Here Ryan sits. Cancer-ridden with only six months to live. He had leukemia. But he wasn't the only one with problems. His best friend, Brendon, was anorexic. They had suffered silently for too long .

Brendon was growing tired of the steady beeping the monitor made and the monotonous days aside Ryan's hospital bed. "Lets get out of here." He declared, and got up from his seat, to grab his coat and unhook Ryan.

"What're you doing, you idiot!" Ryan shouted and tried to smack Brendons hands away from the iv's. "That'll set off an alarm! What're...stop it! Just...what?"

Brendon's quick hands sped around and were unplugging each machine, tossing a jacket to Ryan in his haste. "C'mon, hurry, they'll be up here soon." And with that said the alarms went off triumphantly as Brendon lead Ryan from room 203, down a flight of stairs, ducking around a corner and into an elevator, from which he pushed the button to the parking garage.

"This is ridiculous, absolutely impossible!" Ryan breathed, his knees quivering as the elevator whooshed down each floor. He was getting dizzy from all the movement. "You're gonna get arrested, I hope you realize."

Brendon chuckled, "It's not impossible, look we're doing it, aren't we?" He grinned widely. "Not if I don't get caught." and the elevators door burst open, the boys dashing to Brendon's mustang, Brendon helping to ease Ryan into the passenger seat.

"I can't believe you...but I have to admit, this is quite exciting." Ryan smiled, glancing down at his hospital clothes, a stale coloured cyan that made his skin look unphathomly pale. "We'll have to stop at my place too-"

"That'll be the first place they look! Jeez, haven't you watched any crime shows? We'll just buy you a whole new attire. Besides, the lord knows the sixties thing is really abnormal. Bummer, looks like thrift stores aren't on my gps." Brendon nudged as the hospital zoomed out of site.

"I think it looks good..." Ryan pouted, flipping the knob to the radio on and humming the melody of the current song. " I always dreamed of constructing an album, you know. Then the news came about...well you know."
