It was nearly morning that night after when Super Shadow defeated the evil Lord Dark. Rouge was looking out her bedroom window thinking about some things about Shadow, her closest friend. She stared at the bright moon, 'Shadow? Why does his name still haunt me? I don't have any feelings for him. No, we're just...friends...or are we? I want to see if he's all right. I want him to be with me so I won't feel lonely.' Her thoughts were interrupted when she saw a bright yellow light fly across the moon. "Shadow. I can't take it anymore I have to see if you're okay." She ran out of her bedroom following the yellow light.
The morning sun had came and Shadow was no longer Super Shadow. He was standing on a path that was covered in flowers. He heard footsteps coming behind him, he looked and saw a tired, panting, white, bat. "Rouge, what a surprise. I didn't suspect you to be here."
"That's because I wanted to see if you were okay."
"I'm fine, Dark didn't lay a claw on me."
Rouge walked up to him, "That's cool." She sent a smile at him.
"I'd better go." Shadow was about to walk away, until Rouge called him back.
"Wait."
He faced her, "What is it now?"
"Shadow, I need some advice."
"Okay."
"Lets say I have feelings for someone, but I'm too afraid to admit it. What do I do?"
"I'm not really an expert on giving love advice, but if I were you I'd just tell em straight up how I felt about em."
Rouge felt that it didn't help at all. She flopped her ears down looking at the ground sadly.
"You love him, don't you?"
"Huh?"
"Knuckles, you really like him. I can tell it's him. You hang around him and do flirt with him a lot."
Rouge couldn't contain her feelings anymore, "It's you."
"What?"
"I love you. You have always been there for me when Knuckles wasn't and I appreciated that."
"Your...welcome?" Shadow was confused at the moment, "You really like me like that?"
Rouge nodded, "Ever since the day I met you, you made me take my mind off those jewels I loved so much."
Shadow thought it was impossible to make her take her mind off of those jewels. "I had feelings about you too, Rouge. I always liked the way you toyed with me when you came over at my place. Even when you annoyed me by falsely falling asleep on me. The truth was I really enjoyed that moment."
"And when I always played with your chest fur."
"That was kinda annoying, but I still liked it." Shadow admitted.
Rouge ran over to him hugging him.
Shadow pulled her away and held her close to him, "Rouge, my bat girl."
Rouge looked into his eyes, "Kiss me."
Shadow kissed her lips passionately not wanting to break apart.
Rouge wished this moment would never last.
When they broke apart Rouge started to play with his ears.
Shadow smirked, "Is this something new?"
Rouge giggled, "If you allow me to come over to your place later, I'll give you something new."
Shadow knew what she was saying, "How about now?"
"I couldn't think of a better time." Rouge allowed Shadow to carry her to his house.
