I met a mad hatter a few weeks ago
And he was as mad as a hare
He told me he loved me, I gave him a kiss
For I found I didn't quite care
I was rather bored when he'd asked me to dance
So I curtsied and he tipped his hat
Then he swept me away and off he ran
What do you think about that!
I met a mad hatter not too long ago
And he was as cute as a mouse
He carried me a great distance like I was a bride
Then set me down inside his house
"This isn't quite right," I told him at last
"This surely can end in no good."
And when I got home, I'd found I was right
My parents had misunderstood
I met a mad hatter a few weeks ago
And by now I know him quite well
He visits me often with verses of love
Pretending he's new hats to sell
