It was a quiet morning at the Rooney house. This was just a day after Liv had filmed the trailer for Space Werewolves and Maddie had stood up after tearing her ACL. That being the case, she was bedridden for a while to heal. Now that Liv was done filming for her movie for the time being, she wanted to keep her sister in high spirits as much as she could.
"Morning, Liv." Maddie moaned sleepily. "Liv?"
She looked over and her twin wasn't in her bed.
"Liv!?" she called again.
She was just about to get up and look for her when she heard a high-pitched voice yell "DON'T GET UP!" from outside the door. Maddie chuckled and sat back down. There was Liv. After a few moments of bumping against the door, Liv stumbled into the room, a tray with an elaborate breakfast on it in hand.
"Good morning, Mads!" Liv greeted her sister. "I have a surprise for you!"
Liv sat the tray down on Maddie's lap.
"I want to do everything I can to make these next few bedridden days better for you, and before you is part one. All your favorite breakfast foods: pancakes, waffles, orange juice, everything!"
"Aww, Liv, you shouldn't have! Thank you so much. I'd hug you but I'd rather this delicious masterpiece not fall over."
Liv giggled.
"Um, not to be a stickler," Maddie began, picking up an apple. "But I hate apples. You know that."
Liv grabbed it out of her hand. "Hey, I need to eat, too!" she jokingly scoffed, biting into the apple.
Maddie chuckled.
"So…wanna watch basketball or something?" Liv asked cheerily.
"Basketball!?" Maddie replied in shock. "You would willingly watch basketball!?"
"Anything to keep my sister happy." Liv smiled.
Maddie shot an endearing smile back, once again wishing to hug her sister but unable to do so due to the heavy tray.
"If you say so!" Maddie replied, turning on the TV.
Liv joined Maddie on her bed to watch the game.
Maddie was thrilled. Maybe being bedridden wouldn't be so bad after all.
