AN: This is my first time writing Demyx/Zexion - so I'm not absolutely certain of this story. Characters belong to SquareEnix, not me.

I wrote a song for him the other day. Not that I'd tell him that, of course. He'd think I'd gone completely insane; lost what little sense I had; or something like that. Friends don't write songs for other friends. Well, they probably do, but not love songs. And that's what I wrote for him.

It's difficult, sharing a flat with Zexion and not being allowed to jump on him every time I feel the urge (which can be quite often). He wouldn't appreciate it – he's not the sort of person that shows affection physically. Not like me.

He walks in as I finish playing the song again.

"A new one, Demyx?"

"Um, yeah." Normally, I make him listen to everything I write, just to get his opinion. This time, I'm nervous.

"Play it, then."

Unless I want to explain my feelings for him, I can't really refuse, not when he's actually asked to hear it. So I play it for him. And Zexion's not stupid. He can tell it's been written with a specific person in mind. He just doesn't know who.

"Who did you write it for, Demyx?"

I look away, not wanting to see his expression. He knows when I'm lying – he always has been able to tell. I take a deep breath.

"You."

"Why didn't you say anything before?" He turns my face towards him, our noses practically touching.

"I didn't know how to tell you."

I never expected him to kiss me. I always thought I'd have to make the first move, if anything was ever going to happen between us. But he did. And now, when he's out, I spend the time writing songs for my Zexion.
