I DON'T OWN GRAND THEFT AUTO

The rain landed gently on the window pane. Ace didn't care for the rain, it gave him the blues. There weren't a whole lot of things that didn't give him the blues though. When you lived in a foster home like he did, being depressed came as natural as breathing. Maybe some foster homes were all right, but his was bad. Real bad. His foster father: Kris Heinzman was a real dick. All he did was abuse his foster kids, verbally and physically. He would walk around the house and the yard with his belt, just waiting for someone to fuck up so he could beat them for it. His wife: Ruby, wasn't much better, she kept most of the money that the state gave her for herself. The only time the kids got any decent clothes or food was when the people from the state came to check up on them. That didn't happen often enough; Hell, it barely happened at all. The only thing that gave Ace any comfort about his shitty life at all was something that his mother had told him when he was only 5. His mother had been forced by the state to give him up because she was addicted to crack. He remembered what she had said as she told him goodbye.

"Baby, if you can, get to Liberty City. You can be anything you want there, you can make so much money. You'll be able to make yourself happy if you can get on top. Promise mommy that you won't let anyone else take away what's yours, if you want money, power, a nice girl to love, then you do whatever it takes and let no one stop you, even if you have to kill the babies in their beds." she said as the CPS workers dragged Ace away.

"I will momma." Ace had said as she reached out for him. That was 10 years ago. Ace was 15 now and he'd been able to gain enough money by selling drugs on the streets of Chicago. He decided that today was the day, he was going to go to Liberty City and get what was coming to him: Money, power, and bitches. He gathered up all of his worldly wealth, about $1356 in all and went downstairs. As he was leaving. he saw Kris burning one of his foster sisters on a hot stove.

"I'm going out!" Ace shouted.

"Don't come back!" Kris replied.

"I won't!"

"Good!" Ace slammed the down behind him and walked out of that house forever.
