Out of all desserts and sweets, molten chocolate cake just had to be Link's favorite.

"Zelda, you dropped a piece of eggshell in the batter."

Out of all the things Zelda knew how to do, baking a cake wasn't one of them.

"That's okay, I don't think he'll be able to taste the whole bottle of vanilla."

Cookies would've been simple enough. Cookies don't have melted fillings.

"Did you just add a teaspoon or a tablespoon of salt?"

But, no. Homemade cake was the greatest thing in the universe, according to Link. Store-bought cakes just weren't the same.

"The mixer's up too high!"

"Huh?" Coming out of her thoughts, the brunette looked over to the source of the panicked cry to see Peach with her hands over her mouth. Whenever the princess of Hyrule got too wrapped up in her mind, her outwardly senses would seem to turn off completely. She snapped her head back to the mixing bowl when she felt her arm shaking violently.

Batter flew out of the bowl, splattering everything in it's messy path. The counters, the walls, the floor, and the two princesses were all victims to the chocolate catastrophe.

Peach unplugged the mixer's cord. Zelda stared at the bowl which was nearly depleted of chocolate.

She didn't want to do this anymore.

"Uhm," the blonde woman started, trying to find words of encouragement, "Well, there should be enough left to still make one tiny serving."

"Cakes are your thing, Peach. I don't know why Link didn't ask you to make one." The princess laid the mixer down on the counter and went to the sink to clean off her face.

"Because it would be more special coming from you."

Zelda couldn't believe it.

"It looks amazing!"

She actually did it.

"Thank you so much!"

Peach's words, just a simple sentence, gave her back the will power to finish baking. And it was worth it.

Zelda took a seat next to the elfin warrior. His smile was so contagious. She covered her lips with the palm of her hand.

Link took a fork and cut through the fluffy chocolate cake. Warm gooey chocolate ran out of the center of the dainty dessert. Eagerly, the blond lifted the piece of heaven to his mouth. He paused.

"Something wrong?"

Link shook his head. "No," he moved the fork to the girl's lips, "I think you should try it first since you worked so hard on it."

Zelda felt her cheeks grow warm. "Okay." She closed her eyes, parted her lips, and let the moist piece of cake slide into her mouth. Her eyes didn't stay closed for long.

Salt.

Too much salt.

"You know what, cake is overrated." Zelda took the whole plate and ran off, leaving a confused and hungry Link behind.
