A wintery nightime
A/N: just a short fluffy drabble for RJ X Verne. Just in time for christmas. This is my second time writing about these two.
Verne tried to stay asleep, but it was hard when he could feel a certain racoon moving under him. In fact, he couldn't remember when he began snuggling with RJ. Verne's eyes shot open, looking around the log, noticing that everyone was asleep with the exception of the two cuddling close to the entrance.
Verne slowly looked up, finding RJ's icey blue eyes staring back at him.
"Hey, Verney. What are you doing awake?"
Verne dismissed the nickname, "I was about to ask you the same thing."
"I just couldn't sleep. I'm not really used to hibernating so long. Do you guys even once played in the snow?"
"No." Verne replied nervously, "n-no, we never really went out of the log during winter."
RJ chuckled at his other half, "Well, then, let me show you what you're missing."
At those words, the racoon dragged Verne out of the log. The turtle shivered at the sudden change of temperature.
"Okay, so what do you intend on doing out here?" Verne asked, muttering about the cold.
RJ smirked deviously, "You." He looked behind to see his reaction. To his amusement, his lover had a look like he got told the food in the log was destroyed. His mouth was opened in a state of awe, his eyes had a glimmer he only got when he was shocked (RJ loved this look, FYI) Then when the turtle understood, he blocked his face with one hand.
The taller laughed, strutting up to Verne. He hooked his arm around the other's neck.
"I'm only playing." When Verne sighed in relief, RJ leaned close and whispered 'or am I?' The slight tease was enough to make the smaller move his head closer to his shell.
"RJ. . ."
"Verne..." RJ cooed in the others ear. Followed by a kiss on the lips. The turtle moaned, leaning into the other.
Then a shock of cold filled his nerves. He jumped, looking in his shell when he found a handfull of snow scattered between his skin and shell. He glared at the racoon responsible.
"Why? T-that's cold!" Verne shivered.
RJ laughed, "It's a tradition the human teenagers do."
"Well don't, please."
RJ came up with an idea, "I'm sorry, it's just that I've never had a family to play around with before. Never spent a snowy night with someone I liked." RJ gave a little pout, turning around and gave a little cry.
"RJ... don't cry." said name smirked.
"I-I'm just not used to the snow, you know that." Verne hugged the other from behind, "I-I love you."
That was what he wanted to hear, he turned toward his lover and kissed him.
"I love you, too, you sweetheart." RJ gave him a wink.
Verne noticed the trick and huffed, "You pulled the 'family' trick again."
"It always get you and them." RJ pecked Verne's lips again.
Verne covered his face, "Why do you keep kissing me?"
"Look up." RJ pointed in the same direction, which showed a leafy thing with red berries growing above their heads naturally.
"What is it?"
"Mistletoe. Humans use it for an excuse to kiss."
"Well, can we move from it, please? And... you can show me more snow stuff." Verne said timidly.
RJ smiled, "Okay! I'll show you snowmen!" The racoon dragged his other half to a big spot of snow. Verne was going to have december fun if it freezes him.
A/N: Hurray! I did it! I though this was sweet, comment please! I am new to this couple, so please forgive any typos. The reason I made Verne so shy was because if you noticed, if Verne wasn't mad or upset, he acted shy around RJ, and RJ was always so sly and teasing to Verne. And you can tell they totally like each other. Anywho, thanks for reading. Happy Yule!
