This is a rewrite of the first chapter. Hope it flows better.

It had been almost a year since Seto & Joey started dating. Joey had been living with Kaiba for the past few months, which, as Joey hoped, caused his dad to start looking for a job to support himself.

~~Kaiba Mansion~~

After studying for Joey's history test and helping Joey with math.
"Is this becoming any easier for you to understand Joey?" asked Seto.
"I think so. Its all much easier to understand now," said Joey.

"We've been studying a lot for the history test and you seem to know all of the material for the test. You seemed to have improved a lot with your math. You deserve a break. I think dinner is ready. Let's call Mokuba down for dinner," suggested Seto.

"I can't believe its been a year already," said Joey.
"Well, it has," Seto replied.
"Seto, I heard my dad finally got a job to support himself," Joey said.
"Oh? What job is it?" Seto asked knowing that his pup cared very much for his father.
"Its at a gas station, but they refused to hire him unless he cleaned himself up. I heard he had cut down on his drinking," Joey explained.

~From upstairs~
"Come on Sara, let's go down for dinner!" exclaimed Mokuba.
"Ok! I'm hungry" replied Sara.
Mokuba started coming down the stairs with his friend Sara Strassburg who he'd met just two weeks ago. This was her first time at the mansion so he had given her a long tour of the mansion before they started playing because he didnt want her to get scared if she got lost.
But while she was hiding and during the tour, she put various bugs, speech trackers, in places that were out of sight.

~Downstairs~
"What were you guys doing upstairs?" asked Joey.
"We were playing hide-and-seek" replied Mokuba.
"You better not have gone in my room. I dont want anything messed up" said Seto.
"We didn't mess up any of the rooms. Mokuba made sure that" Sara said.
"Ok, then eat your dinner and call your parents to pick you up" Kaiba said. He was pleased that his little brother had made a friend his own age.

Sara called her parents after dinner to have them pick her up and they came an hour later

"Thanks for having me over Mokuba! Let's play again some time!" Sara said as she left with her parents.

~~Von Schroeder mansion~~
"Sara, did you do as I asked my little angel?" asked Zigfried.
"Yes I did Uncle Zigfried but why do you want to spy on the Kaibas?" asked Sara.
"Well Sara, Seto Kaiba is a rival of mine who has humiliated me several times and hurt my reputation. Thank you for helping me Sara" replied Zigfried

~~Kaiba Mansion~~
A few months had passed. Mokuba kept having Sara over to play video games and other sort of games.
"You beat me again. Why can't I be as good as you?" asked Sara.
"I've played this a lot of times before" said Mokuba.
"I have so many games back at home but I don't have this one" said Sara.
"Maybe you can borrow it and give it back to me next time you come over?" said Mokuba.
"Really? Thank you Mokuba. I'll practice and next time I come over I'll beat you" Sara said challenging Mokuba.
"Sara, your parents are here!" said Joey as he called out to Sara.
"Ok! Bye Mokuba. See you later." Sara told Mokuba as she waved goodbye and headed downstairs.
Then she went down stairs, left the mansion and got into her parents car.
