Rin stared at me hard with teary, slit eyes. She can't win this time, I thought as I stared back at her. Suddenly, a leek swiped across my face. All of a sudden, I blinked. "Len!" I shouted as he was giggling uncontrollably. "Sorry, it was getting boring," he said, still half-lying on the floor. "I call rematch!" I exclaimed, punching my hand up in the air. "Miku, this WAS a rematch!" Kaito groaned as he took a seat between me and Rin. "Yeah, but I would have totally won anyway," Rin praised herself. "No, no," Luka sighed, "Miku's right. Len did cheat, so…ready? Go." Rin and I stared intensely at each other again. A couple minutes went by, and our eyes were starting to twitch. I blinked after a few seconds of unstoppable twitching. "I win! As usual," Rin said. "Hey, you guys! Hope I'm not too late for the staring contest," Meiko announced as she and Gakupo walked into the room. "Actually, you missed it. Rin was victorious," Luka informed. "Ah. Knowing Miku, I kinda saw that rematch coming, which is why we came a bit later on purpose…by the way, has anyone seen Gumi?" Gakupo said as he took a seat next to Kaito. "Not since she failed her math test an hour ago," Kaito replied, laughing a bit.
"So…do I even have to ask who won?" Meiko giggled. "Rin," everyone replied in unison. I had picked up the leek that was swiped in my face and started eating it when one of our good friends Miki burst into the room. "Guys! Come see this!" She looked panicked and really worried. The seven of us got up from our quarters and ran down the hallway that our room was attached to. We ran all the way down the stairs leading into the lobby. Miki suddenly stopped and told us to look down. Luka gasped and Len stumbled backwards. "Kaito, call the police!" Rin shouted in tears. "I already did!" Miki replied, who was on the verge of crying. Gumi was lying in a pool of blood next to a knife. She had been murdered.
The police had arrived soon and were picking up Gumi's lifeless body. "What happened here?" a cop asked Gakupo. "I-I don't know…there was a knife next to her so I think she was murdered or something." Len was clutching Rin in his arms as she was spilled out tears all over herself. He, too, was crying, but not as much as Rin. Luka was sitting on a bench trying to control her breathing. I was standing away from everything, trying to avoid being questioned. I didn't like questions so I tried to stay away. Luka was pacing back and forth now, mumbling to herself. "Alright! Which one of you losers did it!" Someone shouted from in front of the ambulance Gumi was now being out into. "You must be the detectives!" Miki was running over to greet the three figures that had stepped out of the more high-tech and sophisticated vehicles. The one that had yelled before said, "So is this the scene of the murder? By the way, I'm Detective Haku." "Yes it is, ma'am." A new face had stepped in. It was our friend, Lily. "Lily!" I shouted to her. "Miku! What happened?" Lily ran towards me. "I-I don't know. Gumi was found dead in our hotel lobby, and there was a knife right there and…" Tears started dripping down my face and Lily embraced me in a hug. "Don't worry. We'll figure out what happened to Gumi, okay?" She said, reassuringly. "Yeah, okay…"
