On the Satellite of Love and in the theater, the movie dragged on as Joel and Mike began to get impatient. Not only was the movie terrible, but they had plans for later that evening, after the Bots had been put to bed. Time went by slowly, only increasing Joel and Mike's boredom and lack of patience, and by this time Crow and Tom Servo were the only ones riffing.

Joel glanced at Mike, and for a moment they just stared, already feeling something between them. With this Joel reached over and grabbed Mike's hand, squeezing every time he felt the urge to do so. Leaning his head on Joel's shoulder, Mike let out a deep, content sigh, before Joel put his arm around Mike and began running his fingers through his hair.

Mike looked up at him and whispered Joel's name.

"Yes?" Joel whispered back, his eyes staying on the screen.

"I love you."

Joel paused, then looked down at him as a smile broke out on his face.

"I love you too," he said, before reaching down and planting a soft kiss on Mike's lips.

After pulling away, they shared a quick smile before Mike went back to leaning his head on Joel's shoulder, as Joel again started stroking Mike's hair. With Joel's other hand he held Mike's, massaging each finger with care and gentleness, while murmuring words of endearment into Mike's ear. The movie continued, seeming like it would last forever, but as long as they had each other, they knew they would make it through.
