PROLOGUE
« HOWARD! »
« What, Mum? » replied the very tired engineer from his bed.
« YOUR COUSIN IS ARRIVING TOMORROW MORNING, YOU NEED TO PICK HER UP AT THE AIRPORT! »
« How, for Pete's sake, Ma, I know, YOU'VE TOLD ME A HUNDRED TIMES ALREADY! »
« I'M SORRY MISTER FANCYPANTS! »
The next morning
Howard Wolowitz was waiting at the airport for his French cousin to finally arrive, and in the mean time, he started to contemplate the implication of that upcoming arrival.
« A French girl in our midst, that should be interesting … In what field does she work again? Oh right, 'Art therapy' … Wonder if she can do something for Raj, lol … Did I just think 'lol' ? God that's creepy, even for me … And there she is ! »
Out of the doors of the International arrivals terminal came a tall brunette, with a yellow shirt and purple glasses, and, as final sign that she clearly was Howard's relative, the glint in her eyes as she was talking to a cute steward.
« So you'll call me, I know you wi-ill ! » she sing-sung to the tall man, who looked like he didn't know what to answer to the cute girl with the accent.
Howard couldn't help but grin at his cousin's eccentrics' : just as flirty as he was, she always seemed to be more successful than he was !
"Howie ! So nice of you to come pick me up ! I never thought you would remember, as you can't, you know, bang me !" She finally had left the steward go and was now waiting for him to pick one of her luggage. For all the years they had known each other, she never managed to say un-embarrassing things to him in public ; especially …
"Don't call me Howie, Naomi, how many times do I have to tell you !" Howard answered, with a smile and a hug, as he knew she was still going to call him 'Howie', just as Missy always called Sheldon 'Shelly' ; there was nothing to budge those girls.
"Come on, I borrowed Leonard's car, I just knew you wouldn't be able to shlep over here with the minimum" he finally said, walking next to her tall frame made him realized once again how unfair genetics were.
Back at 4B
"Fellows, here is my cousin Naomi …" Howard started to introduce his cousin, before Leonard interrupted him.
"The one you've been talking about for a month now ?" the short-sighted physicist asked with a huge amount of sarcasm in his voice.
"Well, that must be me" Naomi replied, putting her head on Howard's shoulder, deciding on a whim that she wouldn't let her cousin be attacked by some curly – if cute – Hobbit: she was the only one authorized to mock him.
Leonard's head movement might have been worrisome, if he had paid attention: the woman now standing in the entrance of his apartment was, if not prettier than Penny / Prya, at least as interesting looking, and was such a contrast to her … cousin? … that she attracted his attention ; plus, there was the accent and the deep, throaty voice. Stuttering, he started to try to make an apology, but she quickly cut him off with a deep laugh that was reaaally sexy (if he was not thinking of Prya) that had him smiling his goofy smile.
"Don't sweat it, Dr. Hofstadter, I know my cousin, he can be pretty obsessed with his new toys" she said in a laugh, patting Howard's shoulder.
"New toys? Hey!" Howard started to reply, but Naomi shushed him with a playful wink.
"So Howie, aren't you going to introduce me properly to your crew ?" she finally said with her hands on her hips.
There, the new character has arrived !
She has yet to meet Penny and our favorite Sheldon …
