The Sun hit me in the eyes reminding me that it is already morning and another day has passed. I was alone on the bed. Lying there, one eye opens too lazy to get up. "Autumn, hurry up and get up! Your grandpa is leaving to the field. You said you will go with him", I heard my mom yelling from downstairs. It had been two weeks since my beloved grandma died from illness. She was one of those people you wish would live forever. My mom and I decided to stay with grandpa for the mean time since he has nobody else. Before, he has the corn field, the barns and my grandma but now, he seemed to have lost everything. I know just how he feels when grandma died because I still remember what it feels like when my dad died from cancer.

Remembering my mom yelling from downstairs, I shot up from the bed, quickly brush my teeth and brush my hair, just in case, and rush down the stairs. "Wait. Wait grandpa. I'm going with you", I said quickly and almost lost my breath saying those sentences. My mom looks at me in horror because she knows that it is impossible for me to shower in time and mom will always be mom as she goes on saying "Autumn, did you at least put on some fragrance or wear your deodorants before rushing downstairs". And Bang it hit me hard on the head. I've forgotten the most important thing for a lady. Deodorants. And some fragrance I think.

"What the hell ma, it's not like I'm going on a runway or something. I'm just going to the field. Nobody is there anyway", I said trying to cover up my obvious mistake. My mom was about to open her mouth, obviously because of my language but quickly or fancier, as fast as lightning, I rush to my grandpa who was already on his tractor and set off.

He drove the tractor like a champ and he told me stories about his life with grandma and what they would do every day. I love it when he told me stories like this. It feels like he has lifted up all of his burdens from his shoulders. "Your grandma always reminds me to drive carefully, drive slowly, and watch out from that goose or something like that. She is my better half. She is my true love. My only love. You will understand it when you find one of your own Autumn", he said smiling at me proudly.

7.00 a.m. It is still early in the morning, for me at least as we arrive on the corn field. I had missed smelling the corns early in the morning and was eager to pick the ripe one and bring them home. I was thinking whether I want to bake them in the oven, roast, or just boil them all. My grandpa left me on the corner of the field to continue on doing his regular job. He walks to one of the barns still smiling and then yelled at me "Don't go too far out of the field and if you get lost just call me, I'll be there before you get to say Old McDonald". I laugh at his joke and then reply "Don't worry grandpa; I'm old enough to drive your tractor so it seems impossible for me to get lost".

I wave him goodbye and then set on a journey to nowhere on the field. I picked up the basket I brought from home and head to one of the walkways on the field. It is a fun day for me. Searching for ripe corns and putting them in the basket, swirling around in a circle, dancing on my own. I was so occupied with myself; I started to walk backwards that is I'm trying to do the moonwalk on the field. Man I'm going crazy. Suddenly, out of nowhere, I tripped backward to a large rock behind me. I turned around and almost fall on my face when a hand grabs me from behind, unintentionally hugging me.
