A streak of lightning zig zagged across the sky. Thunderstorms in Amegakure were uncommon and most of the time,it just rained and never stopped. Konan stared out the window at the sheets of rain that were constantly cast down from the sky. "Mommy, why does it always rain here?" the blue haired girl asked. She turned around to face her mother. Her mother never answered, instead changing the topic to origami,a hobby of Konan's. Five minutes later, mother and daughter were sitting at a table folding squares of paper into animals and flowers. Konan paused in the process of folding a paper crane to watch her mother. It always amazed her to see her mother's long delicate fingers turn something as plain as a sheet of paper into something as exquisite as a rose. "Here Konan" her mother said, and handed the rose to her." Here" her mother laughed, leaning over to tie a part of Konan's hair into a bun, then placing the rose in her daughter's hair. Konan turned to look in the hand mirror her mother provided. Roses were her father's favorite flower.

"He'll come home,Konan,he's a strong shinobi." her mother whispered, trying to reassure her. Konan nodded, trying to keep a mental picture of the day her father left for war. His warm smile, his voice reassuring her that everything will be alright, and his amber eyes that were identical to her own. Konan hadn't realized tears were dripping down her face, until her mother handed her a tissue. The sound of someone banging on the door startled both of them. "Takara! Takara!" a voice screamed. Immediately, her mother rushed to the door and yanked it open only to reveal her father. Konan's eyes widened as she took in her father's gory appearance. He was blanketed in wounds and gashes. "Run!" he gasped"they're targeting this area next! Take Konan and run!". A loud boom echoed in the distance. Suddenly, her father began to spasm and gurgle. Konan's eyes grew wide as she watched a katana slowly protrude out of her father's sternum. It was swiftly pulled out,and he crumpled to the floor.

An Iwa nin grinned sadistically as he wiped his hand along the length of the blade, spattering the ground with blood."You're next" he hissed,as he lunged at them. Almost immediately, her mother brought her hands up and the squares of paper were swept off the desk and made a wall in front of them, held aloft by chakra. "This is our clan's kekkai genkai, use it well." "Huh?!" she yelped as several sheets of paper began pushing her towards the window. "Now run!'' Konan opened the window and climbed out. She jumped down to the ground. She watched as the sheets of paper swept a small leather pouch off the table and carried it to her. Konan grabbed it and ran.
