Synchronicity of Light and Dark
Chapter 1: A Scandal of Loneliness and Sadness
Deep within the caves of Estium, within the country of Azscana, a woman sat upon her dark throne, alone. Tears silently streamed down her face, but her eyes were fixated on the bloodstain that still was on the cold cave floor. She winced as the memories flooded back into her mind.
A raised claw, hitting away the only company the dragon had. Her body, flying across the cave room. The body landing and her blood painting the floor a dark red. The Singer not moving anymore. The dragon leaning closer to her, waiting for any sign of movement. However, there was none. A realization of what happened and a roar of sorrow. The roar would slowly turn into a cry as the dragon turned back into her beautiful Enchantress form.
The Enchantress looked up, her blonde hair falling out of her face to reveal her emerald green eyes. A new Singer was required. The Enchantress got up from her throne, wielding a staff in hand. She would go to the castle and require a search for the new Singer…
"The one who bears the sacred symbol of Singer shall bloom and sing for me.." the Enchantress said, her voice filled with determination.
In the town of Julburg…
Two babies laid on a bed together, their mother sitting by them and singing lullabies to them. The babies were twins, one a boy and the other a girl. They both had blonde hair and blue eyes. The boy was slowly falling asleep while the girl was wide-awake, chewing on the necklace her mother had gave her. The twins both had necklaces with music notes on them. The girl had a treble clef, and the boy had a bass clef.
A sudden knock upon the door made the mother get up and walk over to the door slowly. Who could possibly be visiting now? The mother opened the door to see two guards standing there.
"Hello sirs," she said. "May I help you?"
"We are looking for the new Singer.." one of the guards said, holding up the official document that allowed the search for the new Singer.
The mother's eyes widen and she tried to slam the door shut. She knew how the search went and the mother didn't want to possibly lose her babies. The guard held the door open and the other one grabbed the mother, pulling her away from the direction of her kids. The first guard went over as the two babies started crying for their mother. He picked up the baby girl because he saw her necklace. However, the boy was left alone because his necklace was hidden under his shirt. The guard turned around and walked out of the house. The mother cried after them as the guards left with the crying child.
Years passed and the girl was raised in the caves with the Dragon Enchantress. She never left the cave and knew little of the outside world around her.
The girl sat there, holding the treble clef necklace in her hand. She gently rubbed the name that was carved into the necklace.
Amelia..
A sudden roar shook the cave and the girl's eyes widened, the necklace falling out of her hands and hitting the floor, the sound echoing throughout the cave.
