Maybe this is not how you play Uno, but this is how I play Uno, and it happens to be, for the purposes of this story, how Dumbledore and Abu and Sir Hiss play Uno, as well.
DISCLAIMER: I do not own Harry Potter, or Aladdin, or Robin Hood, or Uno.
Being a wizard, Uno was a new game to the newly-deceased Dumbledore. It was even newer to be playing with present company.
Smiling serenely so as to be more polite, he nodded at each of his opponents. "So, which of you lovely animals would like to go first?"
The monkey named Abu looked at Sir Hiss. The snake's lips turned up. "I would love to, ssssssir." He placed a green reverse on top of the nine.
"Erm... which way does that-" But Dumbledore never finished his question, because Abu promptly placed his own reverse on the pile. "
"Ah... Your turn again, Sir Hiss!"
"Oh, um... Reversssse!"
"Ooh, ooh! Aaaah!" Abu put down another reverse. Frowning in concentration, Sir Hiss dropped yet another reverse onto the pile. Finally, Abu put down a three.
"Does that make it my turn?" Dumbledore, who'd been watching the exchange very closely to try and make sense of it, asked. Sir Hiss nodded. Dumbledore put down a card.
Thus began an epic battle of cards. Draw Four Wilds were used in abundance, along with their less malicious counterparts, Plain Wilds, Draw Twos, Reverses (again), and Skips.
"OOOOH!" Declared Abu, holding up a red card to show which color he picked. Dumbledore obediently put down a card of the correct color. Sir Hiss licked his lips nervously and put down a wild. "It'ssss blue!"
So the war continued, until Abu got impatient with Dumbledore, who was still getting the hang of this new game. The monkey jerked two cards from Dumbledore's hands and then threw his cards onto the deck.
"OOHOOHOOH!" He started dancing around the room and screeching in a very loud, monkey-ish way. Sir Hiss's mouth dropped.
"What happenned to hisss cardssss?!"
Dumbledore, unfazed, answered "He put them down."
"But... He never sssaid Uno!"
"Yes, well, you have to remember he's a monkey."
"Sso he jusssst-"
Dumbledore nodded.
Sir Hiss scowled, but put down a skip, drew, another skip, and another one, and finally an eight.
Impressed, Dumbledore put down his own card and noted,"That was a lot of cards, Sir Hiss."
"Yessss, well-"
"AAHOOHAAAAAAH!" Abu grabbed Sir Hiss's deck and threw it onto the pile. The snake stared for a moment. "YESSSSS! I WIN!" He started hissing hysterically, like he'd gone mad. Blinking uncertainly, Dumbledore continued putting his own cards down. He had to finish the game, after all. He put down a three. And a two. A skip. He paused. Can you skip yourself? Probably not. He drew, and dropped a reverse. A six-
"OOOOOOAAAAOOOOOOH!"Abu seized his cards and threw them dramatically into the air.
So that was how you played. Rather like the end of exploding snap.
How clever!
