Hi, my name's Lil. This is my first attempt at fanfiction, so please be nice. It's Bang because I luv them. Of course, I do not own Grey's Anatomy or the characters. Please R and R.

It was a cold, wet day in Seattle. It started just like any other day. She woke up, got her daughter ready for school, kissed her husband goodbye, and left for the hospital. When she arrived at Mercy West, however, she realized the day was not so ordinary after all.

Cristina Yang-Dowling immediately changed into her scrubs while mingling with her fellow residents. She had become a lot nicer and friendlier over the past six years since she transferred from Seattle Grace. Her bed side manner even improved a bit. She always thought her progressive change of attitude was contributed by her daughter, Ava, who always had a smile on her face. Yet deep down she knew she was just happy to get away from the pain and suffering she had endured while working at Seattle Grace.

Immediately after changing, Cristina was paged to the nurses' station. "What is it now?" she tiredly complained to the nurse behind the desk. (She still had to work on being more polite to the nurses) "Um Dr. Yang I have the chief of surgery at Seattle Grace on the phone for you," the nurse quietly said.

"Did he say what he wanted?" Cristina snapped.

"No, he just said it was urgent." Cristina grudgingly took the phone and pressed the cold metal to her ear. "Hello."

"Dr. Yang. I'm sorry to bother you at your work, but this is a very pressing matter," the Chief blared through the phone.

"Ok…?" Cristina questioned, unsure of what he was going to say, afraid of what he was going to say.

"I know this is probably a bad time, but I would like you to come down to Seattle Grace as soon as you can. Preston….he….woke up early this morning. It's a miracle really,"

Cristina felt her heart stop beating for what seemed like an eternity. She felt like the room was spinning around her. She let him go so long ago, but now he's awake? How can that be?

"Burke's awake?" she asked in disbelief.

"I know this isn't the most ideal situation for you and it's been, well, a long time, but he keeps asking for you and I think it would be best if we oblige considering all he's been through."

"For me? Why?" Cristina couldn't focus. She felt like she was going to faint at any moment.

"Well, as you have probably guessed he doesn't know how long he's been out. Shephard says we need to ease him into it by surrounding him with familiar things and then break the news, otherwise he could go into shock and be right back in that comatose state," the Chief grimly said.

Snapping out of her paralyzed trance Cristina firmly replied "I don't know. I have a pretty busy schedule today. I'll see what I can do." And with that, she hung up the phone, smoothed out her already seamless scrubs a few times, and quickly walked to the nearest on-call room.

She hurriedly locked the door and slid down to the floor. "O my god, o my god, o my god," she breathed. How could this happen? Her life was finally coming together. She had the perfect husband who she loved and adored, the most beautiful daughter, the perfect job. 'What could I have possibly done to deserve this?' Her hands started shaking furiously and her emotions finally let loose. She cried for Burke who she should have never let get into that car seven years ago. She cried for her daughter who never got to meet her dad. She cried for her husband who spent years trying to pull her away from depression over her true love. She cried for herself for loosing the love of her life. But most of all, she cried because she just might get him back
