Of his mother he remembers her bright blue blank eyes

That only cared for her addiction.

Of his father he remembers his happy shining smile
as a fist pummelled his tiny frame.

Of his early childhood there was lots of laughing
Centered around him being a mistake.

Of the world he will always be lost
for he has never been lead on any path.

Until Watari

Of Watari he will always remember his father
Who he should have been.

He will remember the bombs of Winchester town and the bells of freedom that ringed out that fateful day. The day he began to forget and write anew his old life. Old characters remade anew in his fictitious life for which he smiled as only that boy could smile. And only to the man who knew him. The man who understood the boy trapped in the mind. The man who took his hand.

Of his mother he now remembers nothing,
That could shatter the illusion built.

Of his father he now remembers a moustache
As it was as white as Christmas snow.

Of his new childhood there was lots of laughing
Centered around him being perfect.

He is only eight years old but already his life seems complete.
He is happy.
And that is all that surely matters.
No one will laugh at him, or stare at him, or call him cruel things.
For he is perfect.
Watari told him so.
The children he meets are the same as him,
Perfect mistakes.

But there is something.
Something.
Something in a hidden glance from a teacher.
Something in a hushed whisper from a child.
Something in even nothing, even when he has fun.
But there is something.
Something wrong with Him.

And on the day that eight turns nine,
He blows out his candles
And makes a wish upon instruction.
Everyone watches. Everyone'swaiting.
The clock isticking.
Even with everyone around him he feels so alone.
And that is a question that can never be answered.
He knows it won't come true, it is impossible
But Watari believes in rituals, so he has to try.
To keep him happy at least.
He asks the candle, or whatever it represents, one question.
One thing never shared with anyone.

Not even one thing his mind feels.
One thing his heart feels.

"Why Am I Broken?"
