Title | At Morning's Light
Fandom | Beauty and the Beast (CW)
Description | This is a poem I wrote in my poetry class last semester; I based the premise on Vincent's feelings towards Catherine... It is in the style of John Keats so if you do not know your poetry, this might be a difficult piece to read. It is written in iambic pentameter. 14-line sonnet.
Rating| This poem is rated T for sexual themes.
POV | First Person
Disclaimer | While CW owns Beauty & the Beast, I am the owner of this Masterpiece.
Claimer | I am human; there are bound to be mistakes. If you feel like something should be changed, you have the power to send me a review/private message. I can't guarantee if I'll change it every time, but I do read all of my reviews and all of my private messages!Vincent's tribute to Catherine.
Author's Extra Note: This poem is meant to portray Vincent's feelings when he wakes up to Catherine sleeping in his arms.
Author's Side Note: The →'s at the end of the poem refer to the couplet style at the end of a sonnet. Since FFN isn't style-friendly, it's the best I can do with the tools I am given.
At Morning's Light
WriterFreak001
With pure contentment, I should not be blessed,
For I do not deserve to lie upon
My latent lover's round, and gentle breast,
nor kiss her plump lips through sunlight's dawn.
Yet here she sleeps within my strong embrace;
Her breath, so quiet, brushes 'gainst my skin.
I hold her, drinking in every ounce o'her grace
And bask in her beauty living within.
Oh! How she does bequeath my silent prayer;
My heart is hers, and hers forever mine,
Though, I'wonder how I could even compare
To someone worthy o'her flawless design.
→→→All doubts, however, die within the night
→→→When she wakes up with me at morning's light.
WriterFreak001: Even though this isn't a story, I would still love to know what you think! :)
