Real Pain
It's me again! Came up with this a while ago, and decided to type it up properly. It's quite depressing really, but please review, and thanks to Angel Wings 008 and Touch of Grey for reviewing my last one shot! Thanks a lot!
Disclaimer: Don't own it, never will
She held the letter in her shaking hands. How had this happened to her?
She read and reread the letter again and again, yet the words remained the same each time.
The one she loved was dead. Gone. Never again would she see his eyes gaze into hers, nor run her fingers through his hair, however much he hated it.
Sure, he had had problems, as had she, but everyone had problems. He still made her feel loved, despite the war that raged around them.
She cried and cried, her tears smudging the official SeeD letter, telling her that he was dead, that he had died in an honourable and worthy way. But was dying really worth it? Was the pain in her heart, as though it was bleeding, destroying her from the inside, really worth it?
It just goes to show, he was right all along. He had never wanted to let anyone close to him, in case he got hurt, but he had got off easily. She should have followed his advice. She should have distanced herself from him. Now all she had left of him was her memories, which she clung onto desperately...and that letter.
Angrily, she screwed up the letter and threw it into a corner of her room. All the emotions she had felt in the war were nothing compared to this. To fight for justice, truth and what is right, is easy. But to suffer because of mistakes, because of injustice, because of something that could have been prevented?
Rinoa had to deal with real pain now.
