Chuck Bass had a reputation for finding happiness in booze and women. He lost interest in things quickly, but the one thing he never got tired of, was alcohol and sex. But it seemed now the drinking and the women were merely serving as a distraction. They were temporarily freeing his mind of thoughts and memories with Blair Waldorf.
Blair Waldorf was suppose to live happily ever after with Nate. She had been planning her wedding with him since she could last remember. But a few months ago, she gave up on that fairytale. She just couldn't be the tall, thin, blonde hair, blue eyed, girl of his dreams. Not being able to fill his expectations made her uncomfortable and self-conscious. The only person who made her feel beautiful was him. Him; the devilishly charming boy who had captured her heart and then broke it.
Chuck Bass felt guilt and regret. Even more so than when his affair with Blair was revealed. He didn't know what compelled him to do it. No one could ever match up to Blair. She was the most amazing women he ever had the chance of knowing. But what did he do? He threw that all away to hook up with a random girl who would never be as pretty, or smart, or witty as Blair. He remembers what if felt like when Blair slept with Nate. He was heartbroken. Now it killed him to know that Blair was probably suffering from the same thing. God, why am I so stupid? He kept asking himself.
Why does every guy I'm with, cheat on me? Blair kept asking herself. Serena had tried many times to get Blair to party and fun have, and forget about Chuck. But she couldn't she just wasn't up to it. She didn't understand why she was feeling this way. She was hurt and felt betrayed after learning about Nate and Serena's hook up. But after learning of Chuck and Lily's interior designer she was devastated. Maybe it was different because she thought Chuck had really loved her. Nate may have mumbled those sacred three words, but she wasn't stupid. She knew there was no passion in his voice. And although Chuck may not have said it to her, he sure as hell expressed it. The week after the van der Woodsen-Bass wedding had been the most romantic one in her life. She remembered how she felt when Nate told her Chuck told him he had loved Blair. She shocked and excited. He made her nervous, yet confident. He gave her butterflies. What I would give to feel that way again.
They were all at the Hamptons. Blair accompanied Serena, and Chuck accompanied Nate. Blair and Serena were on their way to the pool when they ran into none other than Chuck and Nate. An awkward silence passed between them before Serena and Nate greeted each other. They continued to make small talk, totally oblivious to their friend's desire to be anywhere else but there. Blair and Chuck both finally looked up from their feet. There was only so long they could avoid eye contact. They stood there for what seemed like hours, Chuck Bass with the emotionless face he had mastered so well, after being put down by his father so much, and Blair Waldorf, with her signature cold expression.
Serena and Nate had finally finished talking. The four started to part. As Blair and Serena started walking away from Chuck and Nate, Blair saw Chuck's emotionless expression fall. It was replaced by what Blair thought could be pain. She thought for a split second of taking him back right there and now. She wanted so badly to kiss him and make up, but she knew she couldn't.
Because for right now…
He was just too much of a Bad Boy
And she was just too much of a Drama Queen.
