Well, it's back! Here's a teaser chapter of the rebooted story of "Meubi: A New Chakra Beast". Please note that if you were here for that fic that the two share no events and not to consider this a sequel, but a different storyline.I have a lot of things that take up my time, but always know that I am thinking of this story every night before bed. I look forward to seeing some old and new names in the comments! Yeah, I'm looking at you djmegamouth, milie, and The Goddess of the Night.

The last thing Yuriko remembered was that Zabuza was alive and had brought friends. Kakashi-sensei couldn't beat a tirad of S-rank ninjas while worrying about his genin team and clientele who were facing the fake hunter-nin. Not to mention he had a fever halfway into the mission. Needless to say they lost... All Yuriko could sense now was the cold, dirty floor under her and the clammy figure that towered over her small frame.

"Sensei?" She squeaked as she wriggled around, "Sasuke? ...Naruto?"

"Yurippe! They locked us up in a different cells!" Naruto's voice was loud, but a comfort in the darkness.

"Naruto... You're okay." Yuriko exhaled in relief, "Is Sasuke okay? Kakashi-sensei? How long have we been in here? Why...?" Her eyes were adjusting now. Kakashi-sensei was unconscious and leaning against her in a real awkward pose. She wondered if it hurt as she tried to move him in a less back-killing fashion. Her words seemed to spark more anxiety than answers.

"Sasuke's fine... He's in here with me. Ignoring everything as al-"

"Yurippe, is Kakashi-sensei awake? Can you wake him up?" Sasuke said urgently. Yuriko couldn't see him, but could hear the clinks and shuffles of his movements.

"Um... Maybe." Yuriko pulled against her restraints. They were old and worn, linked to Kakashi-sensei's almost glowing ones. She shook her head and started to nudge him, "Sensei. Wake up... We need to escape." Nothing stirred him, he was out cold. His wounds weren't quite done bleeding. She was pretty sure of that fact by the smell of iron and sweat. Yuriko checked him over as best she could...

"Can't wake him. He needs to rest anyways. We need to regroup before we try anything..." Yuriko tried to sound strong, but to be perfectly honest. She was terrified. Both Sensei and the Academy taught them about ninjas who get captured. Just... bad things. Very bad things.

And it was only beginning when her cell door opened.
