This story came to my mind and I had to write it down

(Ryan's POV)

I took a deep breath and opened the door to the white hospital room. Natalia lay in the large white bed. I walked over to the chair that I have been living in for the last four months. I sat down and looked at her small body wrapped in the white sheets hooked up to many machine's. Her eyes were closed but, she knew I was there. She didn't even have to open her eyes to know it was me who was with her. I gently took her hand in mine and gave it a little squeeze. A smile spread across her face. Her eyes gently opened.

"Hi." she croaked out still smiling. Her sickness was hitting her hard but, she stayed cheerful. She has been sick for far to long. I remembered when she told me about her cancer.

Flashback

I walked into the locker room after a long day at work. I found Natalia sitting on the bench her head in her hands. I went and sat by her. She looked up at me her eyes were blood shot from crying and more tears ran down her face. Without thinking I wrapped her in my arms. She sobbed against my shoulder and I just held her.

"It's cancer Ryan. I'm dying." She sobbed. " What am I going to do." Her tears drenched my shirt.

"shh." I whispered. " Don't worry you are not alone in this. I'll be right there with you every step of the way. I will be with you I promise."

" You would do that for me?" she asked.

"Yes of course. Natalia I'll stand by you. I will walk the long road ahead with you holding your hand the entire way. When you feel like giving up I will be there to help you to keep going." I whispered. " I will love you through this."

" Thanks Ryan for being here when I need you the most. I love you too." she whispered.

Then my lips touched hers and things just for a minute seemed perfect.

" Shh don't try to speak." I whispered. The team was hit hard by the news. It hit Calleigh the hardest. Natalia asked me to tell everyone. As soon as I said the news Calleigh's eyes filled with tears and she ran out of the room crying. Now Calleigh was here everyday sitting with Natalia. She kept Natalia up to date on lab gossip. Calleigh keeps saying she isn't going to lose her best friend but I knew Natalia didn't have a lot of fight left in her.

Natalia eyes had shut again and she was laying against her pillow her smile had faded. Everyone had come by and said there good byes. Calleigh had been sobbing when she finished. Even Horaito had tears in his eyes when he said good bye. Now it was my turn.

"Natalia." I said taking her hand. " You know you are the only woman I will ever love. I know you are only fighting for me but, I want you to know it's okay if you let go. Letting go doesn't make you a quitter or a loser. It just means you have fought your fight. It means you have fought the best you could. It's okay if you let go. I will be okay. I will be okay." I said tears running down my cheeks.

I felt her hand squeeze mine. "Love you forever." those last words rolled off her lips with perfect grace. Her hand squeezed my mine for the last time before the monitor started to wail. She had let go. I kissed her head one last time and reached for the pad of paper and the pen on the bed stand. I wrote down a single sentence and then took out my gun. Holding the paper in one hand and the gun in the other. I lifted the gun to my head feeling the cool end on my head. My finger on the trigger. I took a deep breathe and pulled the trigger. The bullet exploded its loud bang sending the bullet into my brain until I drown in the darkness. A piece of paper had flutter from my hand landing on the floor reading

I promised I would walk the the long road with her now this is the end of the road our walk is over.
