Chapter I: Introduction

Blaine Anderson is a typical man. He's never thought of himself as anything extraordinary. Most people would disagree. He is extremely talented when it comes to music. He could have even pursued it as a career. Blaine Anderson has a normal life for someone of his age. He is engaged, has a dog, and a nice house in California. He works as a real estate agent, and he's quite good too. He rarely ever drinks out of fear of a repeat of some mistakes he made as a teenager-like kissing a girl. Oh, yes, Blaine Anderson is gay.

Blaine's fiancé, Sebastian Smythe, is sometimes misunderstood. He comes off as a jerk at first. Sebastian would never harm anyone. Of course, he's made some mistakes in the past, but he's learned from them and became a better person. He can be an asshole sometimes. Even though he can be a jerk he truly loves Blaine. He fought for Blaine when they were teenagers. When Sebastian sees something he likes he has to have it, so when he saw Blaine he had to have him.

When Blaine and Sebastian met for the first time, Blaine was in a relationship with Kurt. That didn't stop Sebastian of course. Sebastian tried as hard as he could to get Blaine to go on at least one date with him. Blaine, being the gentleman that he is, never accepted his requests. He would not cheat on Kurt even if it was just one date. Eventually Blaine and Kurt broke up. Kurt was moving to New York right after his graduation. Blaine was still a junior in high school at the time so he couldn't go with him and they knew the distance would be too much for them so they broke it off. After months of waiting for Blaine to get over Kurt, Sebastian finally asked Blaine on a date one last time. This time Blaine accepted.

Kurt Hummel is an interesting person to say the least. Kurt writes for one of the biggest fashion magazines, he lives in a lovely apartment in New York City, and he has a boyfriend who is a model. Kurt couldn't ask for anything more in his life. He was happy. He had been through so much as a teenager. He was bullied all throughout high school for being gay. He always had glee club, but most of the time his talents weren't recognized as much as say Rachel Berry's. He wanted his senior year to be different though. He wanted it to be magical. So he ran for student class president and lost. He applied for NYADA and didn't get in. And he eventually had to break up with the boy he was in love with. Kurt Hummel was not having a very good year. Once he moved to New York everything changed. It was like he was meant to be there. People didn't care that he cared more about fashion than sports. He had a little trouble finding a job, but as soon as he found one it was perfect from then on. Sure the people tended to be rude, but Kurt was just bitchy enough to handle them. This was where Kurt Hummel belonged. This was the place he was meant to be. Not Lima, Ohio. Kurt Hummel was a happy man.

But even though they're extremely happy, they still think about one another. They wonder what would have happened if they hadn't broken up.

Would the distance have gotten the best of them like they thought it would? Or would they be even happier than they are now? Was it the wrong thing to do?
