Chapter I: The Sorrow
oOo
March 27th, 2010
New York City
It started out as a normal day. A normal day for New Yorkers at least. That all derailed for a 16 year old boy named Perseus Harold Jackson when Two Marines knocked on his apartment's door.

"H-How may I help you?" Estelle Jackson asked
"Is this the residence of Perseus Jackson son of Sally Jackson?" The Leftmost Marine inquired
"Yes."
"Is Perseus here?"
"Yes. While I get him, please step inside."
"Thank you ma'am."
While Estelle went to grab Percy from his bedroom, the two Marines stepped inside the apartment. The walls were painted in a color similar to emerald but with hints of the sea. As the Marines looked around the room they saw many books on the USMC's history and a smattering of memorabilia from various tours including pictures of Sally and Perseus together at various bases when troops came home. The one picture that but a smile on their face was one that had a caption underneath it that read, "The Marines, Drawn by Perseus Jackson".
The drawing was a Marine in full dress with many Marines is combat gear behind the Marine in full dress. Under all of the Marines was a single phrase that stated, "Never forget what you fought for."
"How can I help you today?" Percy spoke from the overhang
The leftmost Marine answered, "I am Staff Sergeant Peterborough and this is Staff Sergeant Wilson. We are here because your mother Staff Sergeant Jackson has been killed in action after being pinned down under enemy fire in Iraq. She didn't die without a fight however, when her patrol was found, there were bullet casings surrounding her corpse and there were no grenades near her. The Marine Corps give their regrets and so do we. She will be buried with full honor and respect. The Corps would like to state that Staff Sergeant Jackson will be buried in Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery."
Percy stumbled his way onto a seat and thanked the two Marines for coming after learning the date for the funeral. May 24th, 2010.
