Silence is deafening.
After a while, silence can become boring. You can talk and laugh, but at the same time, it is silent. I've realized that this can only happen after you've had feelings for each other.
"I love you," she says.
"I love you," he says.
But there is no meaning behind those words, and only silence remains. You realize that the fights are coming more often, standing in the distance with a dark aura around it.
"I'll leave you, I swear," she says, and he says he's sorry, that he'll never do it again.
The promises are empty, silent in itself.
The things you used to do together don't seem so fun anymore. A walk in the park, holding hands, used to be the best thing in the world. Now there is an invisible wall between you, and it is silent.
Where did all your plans for the future go, Hellboy? Where did they dissappear to? Perhaps the silence is like an angel, sweeping down on dark wings to take away all that was between the two of you.
And when he's finally had enough of the emptiness, she packs her bags and leaves again, leaving little more than a 'goodbye' and a broken man behind her.
He stares after her, feeling a weight being lifted off his shoulders and replaced by a new one. A new, lonely type of silence is left, embracing him with cold arms.
Silence is deafening.
