With DEAD APPLE in just two days away, I figured we celebrate the Rashoumon ability user's birthday! :) Yandere traits aside, Aku needs some love. Sure Dazai did notice him at the end of Season 2, but he needs some attention like Atsu-chan.
Sorry if this is not a happy fanfic, but this is what I believe what Akutagawa felt just like the itsy bitsy spider.
I hope you enjoy.
There are only two places, the cold, pitch-black darkness from below, and the bright, shining light from above.
The only way to get to the top was a thread, a single thread made by a spider.
Lost souls dumped into a pit of misery, no way of escaping this nightmare.
Whether they were innocent or guilty, there was never salvation for them.
This place is their damnation, trapped here for all eternity.
But one soul decide he doesn't want to stay, and decides to go climb his way out and reach the light.
But he falls back down into the darkness, again and again.
He is very stubborn, not willing to give up on escaping this place.
He uses the thread to climb to the top, using his willpower to not let go.
He remembers everything as he climbs, memories that he chose to forget.
The day he met the man who save him and his sister, who would later became his idol.
He want give his all to show him his worth, but it was all a waste.
When the one he admired left that day it anger him, feeling like he was abandoned again made him furious.
Learning that his mentor found someone else who was better him, he wasn't pleased.
He loathed the weretiger, he wanted to strangle him without any distractions in the way.
It's not just that, he was disgusted.
Disgusted, because this boy who was an orphan like him manage to have a home, people that love him and treat him like a person.
What does he have?
Nothing, but the clothes on his back.
He still has his sister, the only family in his life.
He remembers something else, the girl with the green eyes.
She was with the weretiger when they were inside the Moby Dick to save Yokohama from The Guild.
This wasn't the first time, she would always step in to stop them from fighting each other.
He recalled her words when they last saw each other, words that he never forget.
Don't let despair control you, never give up on the little hope in this cruel world. Is hatred really worth of approval?
As much as he doesn't want to admit, she was right.
This hatred in his heart, has been there ever since he was saved.
He let it use him to find purpose in life, to prove his self-worth.
Where did it all got him in the end?
Is that the reason why he was here, falling and falling by doing the same thing over and over again?
As he hold on to the thread, he come to realization of his existence.
He may not understand the purpose of living and finding hope in the darkness, but he want embrace it.
He want to find a way to realize what really matters.
And so he climbs and climbs, again and again.
Until he finally reached it, that little light from up above. He used his hand to reach out and then everything went white.
What happens now he wonders, no one knows where this story will go.
But still, it is a journey that he will never forget from beginning to end.
And that's all she wrote, sorry if this was out of place. Motoko is my OC that Aku was remembering, I may want to do a story with them soon. Other than that, thank you so much for reading. Any predictions you guys have for DEAD APPLE on March 3? I would like to know your theories of what will happen in the movie. If Shibusawa dies, I will be so mad. But we have Kafka Asagiri writing the movie, so...fingers crossed. :)
