She caresses his face, touching the scar. The scar that she gave him. It runs from the middle of his forehead to the bottom left of his cheek.

Rey takes a sharp breath as she watches the man she loves sleep. He looks so peaceful, so unconcerned. For a moment, she's jealous. She may never get that again.

Do it.

Slowly reaching for her lightsaber under the bed, she contemplates what she's about to do. Two minds arguing from within; one tells her to do what has to be done, whilst the other tells her that he has repented enough. He's on the Lightside now, there is no more evil in him. He's good now.

He killed Han. He killed all of those Jedi padawans to join the Darkside. He killed all of the innocent of the New Republic, the voice in her head hisses. He deserves this. There's still a chance that the weakness will return.

Rey turns her lightsaber on, a blue glow illuminating the outline of his restful face.

Yes.

She raises it above her head, ready to strike. Ready to kill.

Yes!

Ben's obsidian eyes flutter open and he just looks at her with a blank look upon his face. "So are you going to do it? I deserve it, I deserve that and more. I'm not a good man, Rey. Despite that I've renounced the Darkside, it still lives inside of me. So go ahead… do it."

Tears fight past Rey's eyelids, racing to be the first to fall down her chin. His eyes shut again, preparing for the worst.

Do it, Rey.

Rey's arms lower hastily and she lets out a racked sob. The lightsaber is turned off and drops to the floor as she holds the man she just tried to kill. The man she loves.

Ben strokes her hair as she cries into his shoulder. She's feeling guilty and ashamed of herself, she almost killed the best thing she's ever had. Why? Because a voice a voice was orchestrating it, playing on her emotions.

"I know he was controlling you, it's okay. It's okay now," Ben cradles her, making shushes to assuage her. His lips make contact with her forehead as he massages her back gently. "I love you, Rey. It's okay."

All out of fight, Rey just buries her face deep into his chest, nestling closer as a reply. Her hands grip his shirt tightly.

I almost killed you, she thinks, I was ready to kill you. The tears build up again as she thinks of her actions.

You're weak, the voice jeered. You're not as strong as I thought you were. Love blinds you.

Love is what strengthens me; it conditions me. Ben is exactly the reason I'm this strong. I'm not weak. You're the weak one. Just know that I'm coming for you, Snoke.

Snoke retreats from her mind, pleasantly surprised at the strength this once nobody from Jakku possesses. "Rey Kenobi, you really are one to watch."

His sinister laugh echoes throughout his palace and General Hux stands next to him with a stoic look. Any trace of emotion wiped clean from the ginger's face.
