Checkmate, Harry.
Harry and Ron were sitting in the Common Room, a chessboard between them. Harry's face was scrunched up as he contemplated his next move.
In the six years he's known Ron, he still had the inability to beat him at chess.
"Come on, Harry, it's been ten minutes, make your move already."
Harry shot a glare at his best friend. He looked back at the board and saw it: his way to win! He ordered his queen to move.
"We'll see, Weasley." He said cockily.
Ron saw what Harry was trying to do.
"You sound confident, at least."
"I am! I'm determined to win at least once!"
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah!"
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah!"
"Checkmate, Harry." Ron said, nudging his piece into the position.
"Damn it, Ron!"
Ron saw his friend's disappointment.
"I meant you checkmated me, Harry."
For the rest of the day, Ron had to hear how Harry beat his sorry butt. And he vowed never to let Harry win again.
