The Real Reason Obi-Wan Ran Away And Became A Hermit
Obi-Wan Kenobi stood in front of the Jedi council, his lightsaber dangling loosely at his side. After he bowed, Mace Windu started speaking.
"Are the children safe?" he asked, referring to Luke and Leia Skywalker, Anakin's two children.
"Yes, master," Obi-Wan replied.
"Good," Mace glanced at Yoda. "You have read the Jedi Code before, so you undoubtedly know this. When a master's apprentice goes to the dark side, the master must submit himself to severe punishment."
"I am ready, master," Obi-Wan tried to calm his nerves.
"First up on the list is the newest addition: you must have a chat with your old friend, Jar Jar."
Stepping into another room, Obi-Wan found Jar Jar walking around, breaking lightsabers and Jedi artifacts. He stopped when he saw Obi-Wan.
"Yousa Obi-Wan!" Jar Jar cried, running up to give him a huge hug. "Mesa berry muchan missin' yousa!"
Pushing him off, Obi-Wan attempted to start conversation. "So, Jar Jar, how's Boss Nass treating you?"
An hour later, a tired Obi-Wan walked back into the Jedi Council Chamber. "What's next?" he asked.
"The three-year-old students are having a class, and you are invited to read "The Little Lost Bantha Cub" to them."
Fifteen minutes later Obi-Wan came back, almost as tired as he had been after Jar Jar. "What's the last one?"
"You must attend Yoda's vocabulary class."
And so, Obi-Wan ran out the temple, hopped in a transport, and sped off to Tatooine. Who wouldn't?
