I do not own Inuyasha
I couldn't make it with the chapter that I intended to write so I wrote this short on instead. Hope it's a good read. ^^
"Mother, stop this! She knew I didn't love her! I've clearly told her that I didn't want to have anything to do with her! She threw herself at me knowingly! Why do I have to take responsibly for it?! She should've known that this would happen! It's her own problem, not mine!" Rin's son shouted angrily turning his back to her.
But suddenly he realized what he had just done. He sharply turned around and found a stunned-looking woman. She leaned against the wall for support because her legs felt weak, they gave up on her. He had hurt her.
"Mother, I'm sorry," he started to apologize. She only stared at him blankly as if she couldn't belief her own ears that he had just said that. And he was fully aware why.
How could he of all people spoke those words to his mother? It was as if he had directed it at her- the words his father, Sesshomaru, could have said.
Rin had fallen in love with Sesshomaru. She gave herself to him knowingly it would accounted to nothing. She got a son out of the impulse moment, but he had disappeared on her since. It was bad enough for a woman to have a child without marriage, but worst when it was a half demon child. It had been difficult for her. Yet, he shouted those hurtful words at his mother.
She swallowed thickly, eyes unfocused, and she started to slowly walked away as if her body was moving on its own. Her world felt like it was crumbling.
"I'm sorry mother. I never meant to hurt you," her son apologized with sincerity.
"Why? Why does it matter that it hurts me?" Her throat felt dry; her expression was still blank and shocked. "Because I am your mother?" she drew her eyes to meet with her son's. His face burned with guilt and shame. "But it's okay if it were her? The girl you took advantage of-because she's someone else?
"She may be a nobody to you, but she's someone's daughter, someone's sister! She's important to someone! Even if she has no one, it still doesn't make it right for you to take advantage of her!"
"I'm sorry mother," he apologized again, though he wanted to argue that he was drunk and she threw herself at him, but it wouldn't change anything now. The harm had been done.
"I thought I've raised you better that, Semimaru".
The disappointment in his mother's eyes was unbearable. He knew she was a good woman, a good mother, who had fallen in love with a demon lord, Sesshomaru, the father he had never met. She had never regretted her decision and tried her best to be a good mother for him. He had always wanted to make her proud, yet, he had disappointed her.
"I'm sorry mother. I will go talk to her and makes things right."
Rin nodded slightly and gave her son a small smile.
