Hey! I'm back! This fic is a lot fluffier than the last one, but it still is a good read. Sorry it's so short.
Dedicated to my dad who always liked to share his music, even if it sounded like a 1980's train wreck! May the Force be with you, Dad!
I own nothing.
"What's that noise?" Sabine groaned. She glanced up from her pillow and looked around at the dark room.
Ezra grumbled an inaudible response.
Sabine looked at the holoclock on the wall, squinting in the bad lighting. 6:00 A.M. She fell back onto her pillow, causing the bed to shake slightly.
"What's wrong?" Ezra asked, his voice muffled by the thick blankets.
Sabine shrugged and sat up. "I don't know," she admitted. "There's some sort of noise coming from Mira's room and I can't tell what it is. It sounds like a train wreck."
Suddenly, a hoarse scream flew out of their daughter's room. Sabine bolted out of bed and tried to drag Ezra out as well.
"Get up!" she shouted. "I think something's wrong with Mira! I heard a scream, and—"
"Then go check it out," Ezra moaned. "She's your daughter. You made her, you take care of her."
Sabine stopped and stared at her husband. Seconds later several pillows flew across the room and hit Ezra in the head, waking him. He sat bolt upright and looked around the room. "What happened?! What's wrong?! Sabine?!" No one was there. Sighing, he crawled out of bed and out the door into the cold halls. Sabine was standing outside Mira's room and some sort of…noise was coming from Mira's datapad.
"What are you doing up at 6 A.M in the morning?!" Sabine demanded from Mira's doorway.
Mira shrugged and glanced at her fighting staff. "Uncle Zeb promised to teach me how to fight today before breakfast," she admitted. "I was just getting ready and listening to some music."
"That's music?" Sabine asked, shocked. "It sounds like a train wreck."
Mira shrugged. "Space Balls is a great band. They have this one song, Attacking Rain. It's great! Wanna hear it?"
Sabine shook her head. "It's too early for hard rock. Please try to keep the noise down." She turned and left to her own room.
Ezra stayed behind, leaning in the doorway and watching his daughter play with her datapad. Finally, he cleared his throat.
Mira jumped, nearly dropping her device. "How long have you been there?!" she demanded.
Ezra just smiled and used the Force to pull the data pad into his hands and started typing.
Mira stood up and grabbed it back. She looked at the screen with confusion written on her face. "What's this?" she asked. "Sleeping Sleemo Singers?"
Ezra laughed to himself. "Try their music," he instructed. "I used to listen to this all the time when I was younger. It drove Zeb nuts."
Mira frowned. "This music is from like thirty years ago. It's ancient."
"Try it."
Sighing, she selected the first song on the list and listened, still skeptical. Her frown was slowly replaced by a grin stretching from ear-to-ear. "This is amazing!" she exclaimed. "The band is great! And the lead singer's voice is awesome!" She hugged her father. "Thanks!"
Ezra hugged her back. "Anytime," he told his daughter. "If Zeb asks you where you got it though, don't mention me."
Mira laughed. "Will do."
Care to review? Did that make you feel all happy and fluffy, just like me?
Hope you enjoyed!
May the Force be with you!
