Summary : Mac has been with Annalise since the mid point of season 5 and the fic takes place one year later.
Chapter One
Annalise and Mac were were at home as Annalise was looking after Mac who had been hurt while at a crime scene and had broken ribs and hurt his wrist, as his fiancee made sure he was ok as she knew that he needed her more than ever, also looking after their baby daughter as well.
During the recovery, Mac knew that without Annalise or his baby girl, he would still be alone but as it stood, he had a family that he would protect come rain or shine, no matter what it took for Mac to protect the ones he loves with all his heart.
Mac had also known that his friend Don was Annalise's half brother but, Don was unaware of this fact for so long and neither Mac nor Annalise knew what would be the best way to explain it to him but knew it had to happen sooner or later.
Annalise was nursing their daughter Lily Grace as Mac watched them both knowing that his life actually meant something to him, as he watched Lily, it gave him so much more joy of being a father to her and he loved her and Annalise so much.
Mac smiled at Lily who laughed back at him and he got to hold her while Annalise got her bottle ready for nap time and Mac just loved his little princess so much, as he just knew how happy she was and he had to admit, he was too with Annalise and their daughter.
After Annalise put Lily to bed, she cuddled up to Mac who wrapped his left arm around her and he tells her " I love you" when Annalise replied " I love you too sweetie.", when Mac kissed her softly as she kissed him back and she just felt so safe with him.
Mac and Annalise got ready for bed and Mac was careful about getting to bed as Annalise helped him, then she gently cuddled up to him and placed a loving kiss on his chest softly which made Mac smile, when he returned the kiss as he placed one on her hair knowing how much she and Lily meant to him.
As they kept their life together a secret, Mac knew that he didn't want anyone on the team to discover his secret life and he'd kept it secret for so long and it was something that he talked about with Annalise who agreed with him as they just wanted it kept quiet.
Mac had been taken off duty until he was fully better and he knew that with Annalise there, he could get better and get stronger so he could go back to the lab again, but until then he was quite happy to be at home with his family who he loved deeply with everything that he has.
Annalise knew how safe Mac made her since they started seeing each other, as Mac told her about Claire and she comforted him when he got upset and she made sure that she would always be there for him whenever he wanted to talk, as Mac was so glad she was a part of his life.
As the days went on, Mac was still recovering from his injuies and he still needed more time to heal and he knew that Annalise was the one who made him feel better, despite how much pain he actually was in and she knew that just by his reactions to the pains he'd get.
How long will it take for Mac to get better?
