It had been several weeks since Nepeta was murdered by a blood thirsty clown. By now most of the trolls were gone. Aradia, Feferi, Eridan, Tavros and Equius had all been killed off in some way. But no ones death hit Karkat harder than Nepeta's. Despite everything he had said about her stupid cat puns, how she kept bothering him, or her overboard shipping he honestly really missed her. He missed the cute way she called him Karkitty or when she'd take cat naps in his lap. He actually liked role playing with her but he would never admit it. The emptiness she had left in him was horribly painful.
One day he went into her room on the meteor hoping it would help just a bit. He needed some way to be remembered of her and maybe even get over this feeling he was feeling. He opened the door and when he made sure no one else was around he snuck in. He quietly closed the door and slowly turned around.
Nepeta had not organized or cleaned her room in any way. She had tried to make her room as similar to her hive as possible. She had scratches on the wall, clothes strewn about the floor, several rom coms beside her laptop, and she even had a stuffed animal of Pounce De Leon (possibly made by kanaya.)
Karkat shyly put on one of her cat hats but he looked quite foolish. His small nubby horns didn't fit the big holes on the top. Sighing he removed the hat and placed it back on the floor before sadly falling on to the bed. He rubbed his eyes.
How long had she been gone now? It had only been a couple of weeks ago but it felt like a whole lifetime ago. Her sweet smile was stuck in his head. The way she walked with almost cat-like grace. She would swish her tail very fast when she got excited and she would paw you if she wanted your attention. Thinking about Nepeta brought bright red tears to Karkat's eyes. he wiped them away roughly and looked up.
Upon looking up, her far wall was covered in all her ships. Karkat knew very well she had one. She talked about it a lot. There were several drawings of all the trolls and the alien kids but only one had a giant red heart drawn around it.
Karkat walked over to the wall and ran his hand over the drawing. Cherry red tears poured down his face as he slumped to the ground. He took a red piece of chalk and wrote a very sloppy
'I love you too Nepeta' over a drawing of Karkat and Nepeta holding hands.
