"It's really not forever, you know."

"I know," Katrina says, albeit rather reluctantly, as she leans against the counter that stands between her and Jana. Jana, who's about to leave with Matei and Doctor Whitewood in order to spend a few weeks in the wild with Emilia and the rest of the pack, whilst Katrina gets to manage the Kafe alone.

"Besides," Jana continues, hands stuffed into her pockets as she faces her girlfriend. "I bet you'll love not having to make breakfast for the both of us for a couple of weeks."

"I wouldn't have to make it for the both of us anyway, if you weren't so lazy in the morning." Despite the situation, Katrina rolls her eyes, as does Jana.

"I'm trying to make you feel better. Sorry that I'm not doing a good enough job."

"It's okay." Katrina shakes her head with a slight chuckle. "I'd make all of your meals for you if I thought that it would keep you from leaving - even if it isn't forever."

"I'm holding you to that," Jana replies firmly, but she reaches across the counter and squeezes Katrina's hand. "Don't worry. The time will go quickly, and I'll be back before you know it."

"Prove it."

"Prove -...Okay." The redhead releases her grip on her girlfriend's hand, before reaching for one of the straws from the dispenser by the till, pulling the plastic wrapper off and ripping it in half.

Katrina raises an eyebrow at the action. "What are you -?"

"There." Jana loops one of the strips of plastic around the blonde's finger, before doing the same to her own. "You'll always think of me now, and know that I'm coming home." Her expression becomes a little apprehensive when Katrina is silent. "What? What's up?"

The blonde is frowning when she looks up from the plastic tied around her finger. "So...Is this -? Are we, like, engaged now?"

Jana looks surprised for a moment, before contemplating that idea. The two of them are already living together, and, according to Matei, bicker like a old married couple. The only thing missing, really, is the official piece of paper. "Huh. Maybe. Do you want to be?"

Katrina shrugs, before giving her a smile. "Okay."

Jana mimics the action. "Alright. Although -" She inclines her head towards the door. "- if I'd have known I was going to do this, I would have picked somewhere a little more conventional. At least somewhere outside."

"We're not exactly conventional, though, are we?"

"Still - I'd rather not do this when TJ and Selina are listening at the door." Her tone is meaningful, as she glances at the door in question, only to hear scuffling as the two eavesdroppers try to put as much distance between them and the Kafe as possible. She rolls her eyes as she turns to look back at Katrina. "Suddenly, eloping is looking rather appealing, wouldn't you say?"
