Forgotten?
As Yuugi returned home, exhausted from the day at school, he wandered into his room and flipped his shoes off while he put his books and gym clothes he had brought home that day onto his bed.
Yuugi looked around his room at the things on the walls, and he was proud of what he had done with it. There were mostly posters of anime, but there were some posters of animals and his friends.
As he turned on and sat down at his computer, he remember he was supposed to call his Grandfather when he got home to tell the old man what his day had been like.
Shrugging this off and looking in the fridge for something to eat, Yuugi settled for a Popsicle.
Licking the orange-flavored ice, Yuugi sat down and began to watch a tape of something he had taped the night before, for it came on at one thirty in the morning. Yami would not be pleased if the young hikari stayed up that layed, so lately Yuugi had rigged the VCR to tape the show.
Meanwhile, Yami was pouting in his soul room. Yuugi had come home, gotten a snack and started to watch the television without even saying hello.
As Yami emerged from the Shadows, stomped down the stairs and glared at the boy, Yuugi not even acknowledging the spirit, Yami felt some pain tear through his heart. Didn't Yuugi love the spirit anymore?
"I heard that," Yuugi mumbled, fumbling for the remote control and turning off his show.
Yami had been shocked beyond belief when Yuugi actually said something, and was now completely stunned. What had made Yuugi act like this?
Yami furrowed his brow in thought. Had he done anything lately to make Yuugi mad? No… not that he could think of.
But wait. Yami realized now why the kid had been so angry with him lately.
He had asked Anzu out.
Does this mean that Yuugi had feelings for the girl… or for the spirit?
Yami sat down. All this thinking was making his brain hurt.
Yami looked down in surprise once more when he felt something warm slip into his lap.
Yuugi laughed softly. "Yami, I don't think any different of you for asking Anzu out. I just… I was surprised, that's all. Do… do you like her that way?"
Yami stared straight above Yuugi's head. Did he find her attractive that way? Yami's eyes widened in realization. He didn't; he found he just wanted to convince and all those around him that he was straight… but no, he wasn't, and he was scared for it.
Yami shook his head in denial. "No… I now see that I merely wanted to convince myself that I was straight, but it seems otherwise."
Yuugi let out a soft chuckle. "That's quite a good thing…" Yuugi whispered as he brought his and Yami's heads together in a soft and gentle kiss.
Pulling away and breaking the kiss, Yuugi whispered, "Gomen ne for being so… you know."
Yami laughed. "It's all good."
Well, that's it! Finite! Done! …unless you out there have an idea of how to keep it going. Read and review!
