"Rushing River ran along the bank,
Not once glancing to look back."
I've been living with this title for a while now. The 'Rushing River' as they called me. But, let me start from the beginning. My name is River Jayne Abadeer, daughter of Hunson Abadeer. No one liked me. I was the villain of Ooo. Always being hunted down by the banana guards who are too stupid to do their job. There was also a pair who were hunting me down along side the banana guards; Jake and "Pen". I know, what a weird name for someone to have. It's not his real name, though. He's called Finn. I would go to my only sibling Marceline for help but she'd probably realise that I'm being chased by her rival and won't help me.
"We've got you this time, Lady!" Finn shouted, chasing me down for my most recent crime. What was that crime, you ask? Being Hunson's daughter. I know, crazy, right? "Stop running away!" He requested, speeding up slightly so I stopped like he asked. This resulted in him crashing right into my back from the sudden pause in my tracks.
"Why are you even trying? I don't know what I ever did to Princess Bubblegum, the Candy Kingdom, Jake, Ooo, You..." From what I could tell, Finn was slightly confused by what I was so called 'confessing' but I didn't know any better way to explain it to him.
"Didn't you do something wrong..?" He approached me so I turned around and looked at him. Of course I didn't. All I did was walk into a store to buy some food and was accused of stealing so I left the store and tried to leave, only to be chased down by Finn. "The store manager said you were stealing food."
"All I did was walk into the store and look at meatloaf. Check the Security Footage if you need further proof. If you don't have the heart to do that and try to arrest me, then try but I'll know you're a monster truly don't give mercy to innocent victims." He looked slightly offended, then confused, and finally set on one answer.
"Fine, I won't have you arrested. But, why does everyone hate you?" Okay, now it's about to get a tiny bit personal. Just a smidge. No, who am I kidding? My father is the whole reason why I'm hated. It's not my fault that I'm the daughter of a demon soul devourer.
"Do you know who Hunson Abadeer is?" Finn nodded at my question and gave me an answer I knew would come up as soon as I asked.
"Yeah, Marcy's dad." Marcy's dad. I wasn't considered as a child of Hunson. If that was the case, then I'd be happy and not feel like I'm being ridiculed or chased down by idiots for the majority of my life.
"Yeah, Marcy's dad. My sister's dad-"
"Marcy's your sister?!" He seemed so surprised. Marceline and I had similar features, such as black hair and being really pale, not mentioning our blood red eyes that seemed to shine and just look beautiful in any lighting. "Saying that, you look kind of similar now that I think about it."
"Yeah, I know. I'm not considered as part of the family, though. I'm too terrible to belong to them." Finn's sympathy was through the roof right now. Marceline didn't really know me, never mind trying to contact me in any way. My mother died a while ago because she was a human and my father never accepted me as being an 'advanced demon' because he never was as a child. "Anyway, everyone figured out that he was my father and, somehow never associating me with Marceline despite having the same parents, they all thought I was evil and out to get their souls. The thing is, though, I can't even eat souls. That's Marcy who can do that."
"Seems like you had a tough life. But, don't worry. I'll try to help you."
And with that, Finn was the light to my tunnel, the only one who accepted me and knew the full truth.
