A/N: My first post.
"Sesshoumaru-sama?" The miko asked tentatively. The Taiyoukai inclined his head toward her. "We were wondering if you'd let Rin stay with us for the night." Rin looked up at Sesshoumaru with an incredibly hopeful expression, one that the miko echoed.
"No." he said firmly. The single word made Rin's expression to go from hopeful to horribly disappointed. Sesshoumaru's shoulders twitched imperceptibly at the disproving look the miko was giving him before he straightened. The lord of the west refused, absolutely refused, to be intimidated by two human females.
Rin turned pleading eyes on him. Sesshoumaru tilted his head up fractionally. "No." he repeated. Tears began to fill up her eyes and Sesshoumaru froze. Where was that blasted Jaken when you needed him? "You may stay one night." he blurted out to escape the imminent threat of tears.
Rin immediately went all smiles and Sesshoumaru blinked. "Thank you, Sesshoumaru-sama!" she chirped before scampering of to pack, leaving a confused taiyoukai behind her. From the corner of his eye Sesshoumaru caught the miko's expression.
She was … smug?
'… This Sesshoumaru suspects he has been had.'
