He'd never understood the phrase "hell is other people". He was a people person, definitely, and isolation was his worst nightmare. To be fair, he wasn't isolated, nor alone. He'd made new friends, that was who he was, but the guy you carpool with and your next door neighbor, however cute, just don't match up to the people you've risked life and limb for and who've done the same for you. He missed having Sam and Daniel to listen to. And having Teal'c to talk to. It sucked, frankly. He missed flying but, more than that, he missed his friends.
