Natsuki Kuga felt like sleeping for a whole month. She was exhausted from saving the world from various bad guys and stopping a bunch of evil schemes from happening.

Natsuki went into her bedroom and looked at the calendar. It was December. She was so tired that she forgot that Christmas was in December. She sighed with relief while saying, "Thank goodness there's no holidays this month. I love holidays, but I feel too tired to get into the holiday mood. Maybe I can just relax this month." She changed into her pajamas and went to bed.

The next morning Natsuki slept in. After several hours of sleeping her phone rang. She was still in bed while answering the phone. She yawned and asked, "What's going on?"

Shizuru Fujino said, "Hi sweetheart."

Natsuki replied, "Hi Shizuru. Can't you call at a more reasonable time in the day? I was sleeping."

Shizuru responded, "But it's noon."

Natsuki was really surprised so she asked, "Really?"

Shizuru had a concerned look on her face while asking, "Are you okay?"

Natsuki answered, "I think so, but I've been so tired recently."

Shizuru replied, "I'm deeply worried about you."

Natsuki tried to calm Shizuru down by saying, "You shouldn't be so concerned about me. A few fights aren't enough to defeat me. I look forward to having an easy month."

Shizuru replied, "December is a really busy month."

Natsuki responded, "But I thought that there weren't any special days in December."

Shizuru replied, "Christmas is in December."

Natsuki facepalmed and said, "I'm so dumb for forgetting that."

Shizuru replied, "You're not dumb."

Natsuki started getting stressed out while saying, "I haven't even started Christmas shopping for you."

Shizuru replied, "Calm down. I don't need any presents. Spending the day with the love of my life is the only present that I need."

Natsuki asked, "Who's the love of your life?"

Shizuru answered, "You."

Natsuki blushed and said, "I'm sorry. I've been so tired from my fights with villains that I can barely even remember the most important of details. I intend on not disappointing you this year." Shizuru tried to tell Natsuki to not worry about present shopping, but Natsuki's mind was too filled with confusion and stress to pay attention.

Natsuki rushed to the mall. She went into one of the mall's clothes to try to find a dress to get for Shizuru. Natsuki tapped one of the male employees on the shoulder.

The employee stopped playing Pokemon Go and asked, "How can I help you?"

Natsuki asked, "Which of the dresses here are really good?"

The employee answered, "I work here so I'm pressured to call every outfit really good."

Natsuki asked, "Can't you give me your honest opinion?"

The employee answered, "No."

Natsuki looked around and saw a purple dress that was on sale. She decided to buy it for Shizuru. She went to the check out aisle.

The same employee saw the dress and said, "This thing sucks."

Natsuki folded her arms and angrily replied, "Hey."

The employee said, "You told me to give you your honest opinion."

Natsuki replied, "But it looks good. Plus it's on sale."

The employee raised his eyebrows and asked, "Is saving money what matters to you?"

Natsuki felt guilty while answering, "No."

The employee replied, "You should buy a dress that cost a lot money. That'll prove that you truly respect whoever you're getting the dress for."

Natsuki responded, "Okay." She went into the fancy clothes aisle and found a more eloquent purple dress for Shizuru. It cost over five hundred dollars, but Natsuki thought it was worth it to prove how much she cares about Shizuru.

The employee's phone rang. He grabbed it and asked, "What's up?"

The employee's girlfriend asked, "Are you going to come by my house for Christmas?"

The employee answered, "I'll come by, grab the presents that you got for me, and go back to playing Pokemon Go."

Natsuki went to a few more stores to get stocking stuffers for Shizuru as well as get presents for her parents and friends.

After getting home Natsuki felt like passing out, because she was still super tired from all of her recent battles. Shizuru called. Natsuki sighed and grabbed the phone. She said, "Hi Shizuru. What's going on?"

Shizuru replied, "I was wondering what time you wanted to come over on Christmas. My family's coming over on Christmas Eve, but I'll be free on Christmas."

Natsuki yawned and asked, "Is it okay if I come in the afternoon?"

Shizuru answered, "Of course you can honey. I know that you're worn out."

Natsuki smiled and said, "Thank you. You understand me better than anyone else."

Shizuru replied, "I also love you more than everybody else." Natsuki blushed.

A few weeks later it was Christmas. Natsuki climbed out of bed. She was so tired that she crawled to the living room while wearing pony pajamas. She said, "Merry Christmas Mom and Dad."

Natsuki's parents saw their daughter crawling around the house and were a little surprised. Natsuki's mom said, "Um, merry Christmas. Are you okay?" Natsuki nodded.

Natsuki handed her mom a present. It was a fancy music box. Natsuki's mom said, "Thank you very much. It's so nice looking."

Natsuki handed her dad a present. Natsuki's dad was excited that the present was a hundred dollars. He said, "This is the present that I asked for."

Natsuki's mom asked, "Do you wanna open your presents now?"

Natsuki answered, "Can I open them later? I need to visit Shizuru before I fall asleep. I would be mad at myself for weeks if I slept through an entire holiday without visiting her."

Natsuki's mom replied, "Okay, but you're too sleepy to drive. I'll give you a ride there."

Natsuki yawned and said, "Thank you Mom." Natsuki crawled to her room and got on a green dress. She grabbed her presents for Shizuru and got into her mom's car. Her mom drove her to Shizuru's house.

Natsuki's mom said, "Call me when you're ready to go home."

Natsuki yawned and replied, "Okay. Thanks again Mom."

Natsuki knocked on the door. Shizuru opened it and said, "Merry Christmas honey."

Natsuki replied, "Merry Christmas Shizuru."

Shizuru said, "Come in and make yourself comfortable."

Natsuki replied, "Okay." Natsuki went inside and put the presents under Shizuru's tree. Natsuki crawled to the furniture.

Shizuru nervously asked, "Are you okay sweetie?"

Natsuki answered, "I'm tired, but I'm okay." She handed Shizuru a large box.

Shizuru opened it and saw that it was a eloquent purple dress. She said, "What a lovely present. It seems like something that cost too much money."

Natsuki replied, "A gift that makes you happy is priceless." Natsuki tried to give Shizuru a kiss, but she was so tired that she accidentally kissed Shizuru's lamp.

Shizuru jokingly replied, "I never expected my main rival for your affection to be a lamp."

Natsuki facepalmed and said, "I'm such a selfish fool."

Shizuru asked, "What are you talking about?"

Natsuki answered, "I use up so much energy fighting villains that I have no energy left when it comes to spending time with my family or with you. I'm ashamed of myself for yawning away the holidays."

Shizuru replied, "The holidays aren't about fancy presents or even staying awake. It's about appreciating and spending time with the people that you love. You're tired, because you heroically defend the world from villains. You being worn out doesn't represent selfishness. It represents how hard you've worked to save the world. I'm proud and lucky to be dating you."

Natsuki smiled and said, "Thank you honey. You're the most lovely thing in my life."

Shizuru replied, "I feel the same way."

Natsuki said, "Merry Christmas Shizuru. I love you."

Shizuru replied, "I love you too." Natsuki and Shizuru kissed.

Shizuru asked, "Are you ready to open the presents that I got for you?"

Natsuki yawned and asked, "Can I take a small nap first?"

Shizuru gently tapped Natsuki on the head and said, "You can sleep for the rest of the day if you need to. This Christmas has already been wonderful. I love you so much."

Natsuki had a big smile on her face while her eyes closed. Shizuru wrapped a blanket around Natsuki.

Shizuru called Natsuki's mom and said, "I'll get Natsuki home by tomorrow. Today she's going to sleep for a very long time."

Natsuki briefly opened her eyes and asked, "Should I start waking up?"

Shizuru answered, "Hold on." Shizuru carried Natsuki in her arms and put her in bed.

Natsuki said, "Thank you Shizuru. I love you so much too and I look forward to spending every holiday with you."

Shizuru replied, "One of the best Christmas gifts that I've ever gotten is winning your heart." Natsuki blushed brighter than a Christmas tree.

Natsuki yawned and said, "I'm sorry sweetheart, but I'm tired."

Shizuru replied, "Go ahead. You've earned a long rest for all the times that you saved the world." Natsuki smiled and closed her eyes. Shizuru tucked Natsuki into bed and turned off the lights. No matter how tired Natsuki got she never got tired of celebrating Christmas.
