She locked her fingers and bowed her head
Rory was scared.
She said I'm late, and I'm really scared
She was terrified in how he would take this.
You can go, but I hope you stay
She really hope did that he stayed with her.
I'm gonna keep it, either way
There was no way that she could give her child away.
In my daddy's el camino
'Crap,' he thought.
In her driveway in the rain
'What am I going to do,' he thinks.
Staring through the windshield
'What would my life look like with a baby,' he ponders.
I could see my future change
A beautiful little girl with blonde hair reading outside underneath a tree as her mother and father are on either side of her.
And my heart hit like a hammer
'Could I do that,' he wonders.
And my thoughts were running wild
'Would you mess up a child like your father did you,' my mind says.
Any fool can make a baby
'Anyone can make a child,' he remembers someone saying.
It takes a man, to raise a child
'But it takes a man to raise a child, can I do that,' he ponders.
I laid my head, down on the wheel
'Oh no, how is he taking this,' Rory ponders.
She said I know, I know, it don't seem real
'I always thought we were careful too,' she thinks but doesn't say.
She closed her eyes, tears flowed through
'Stupid hormones,' Rory thinks.
She said don't hate me, for loving you
'I didn't mean for this to happen,' Rory wants to say.
In my daddy's el camino
'My dad is going to cut me off for sure,' he thinks.
In her driveway in the rain
'We loved the rain,' he reflects.
Staring through the windshield
'What am I going to do,' he thinks.
I could see my future change
A teenage blonde boy coming in covered in mud and screaming, 'did you see my last touchdown and how I won the game.' We look so proud at him.
And my heart hit like a hammer
'Could we do that,' he thinks.
And my thoughts were running wild
'What happens if you turn out to be your dad,' his mind says.
Any fool can make a baby
'I was not a fool to make a baby,' he thinks firmly.
It takes a man, to raise a child
'I will be a man to raise this child along side her,' he thinks.
Well I could not reassure her
'Crap he is not saying anything,' Rory realizes.
I couldn't say what I had planned
'Maybe he is just scared,' she ponders.
Couldn't put three words together
'That is probably just it,' she thinks firmly.
So I just, took her hand
'Oh my god,' she says.
In my daddy's el camino
'I don't care it is us,' he thinks.
In her driveway in the rain
'The rain will bring back better memories again,' he promises himself.
Staring through the windshield
'I want the future, of us and our child,' he ponders.
I could see my future change
The two of them standing at the altar, 'I Tristan Jarlan Dugrey take you Lorelai Leigh Gilmore to be my wife.'
And my heart hit like a hammer
'This is what I want,' he thinks.
And my thoughts were running wild
'Screw my family, I want this for us,' he affirms.
Any fool can make a baby
'This is not a mistake this is a miracle,' he reflects.
It takes a man, to raise a child
'I will be that man,' he promises himself.
It takes a man
'I will become a man in order to do this,' he orders himself.
