Author Note: Wow it was a busy week last week. I had to restart my laptop twice since both the mouse and media controls were not working. I hope that you will let me know what you think of this storyline. I am going to try to make these longer.

Character Summary:

Steve: Still works as a seal. Married and a father to four kids. He is trying his best to come home before his son's birthday

Katie: Married and mom to four kids however sometimes it seems like she is a single mom.

John: oldest son of Steve and Katie. He is 6 years old and his birthday is right around the corner. All he wants is that his father comes home.

McKenna: oldest daughter of Steve and Katie. She's four years old. She is clearly a daddy girl.

Lauren: the youngest daughter Steve and Katie. She just turned two about two months ago and of course Steve was out of town but promised that he would do something for her birthday.

James: Youngest son of Steve and Katie. He is about two months old and Steve missed his son's birthday.

Steve knew that he needed to make sure he got back with enough time to celebrate both of the kids birthdays and celebrate the birth of their youngest child. It was hard to be away from both his wife and kids but he needed to protect them. Katie had mentioned on the phone that their son just wanted him home for his birthday. He walked into his boss's room to talk about the day. He did not know if he could get it but he was going to try. He put in a request for that week off. The boss had agreed to the request and Steve was starting to plan the surprise. Steve knew that Katie was taking the kids to Hawaii to visit Steve's father. He just had to go on one more mission before he could go home. That mission would change his family forever.

The next day, Steve got back to Hawaii. He knew that he needed to get his family however he had to go and meet the governor. He could not believe she had offered him a job but the first thing is that he needed to do is to go make sure that Katie is okay to move their family to Hawaii. He walked into the beach house that they always rented. The minute that Steve walked into the room, the kids saw their father there.

"Daddy." McKenna yelled at her father as she ran over there to get a big hug just as both John and Lauren did. Katie watched them interact as she was feeding their youngest. Steve walked over to sit and the girls and John.

"Hey guys, daddy needs to talk to mommy about something before we go say goodbye to grandpa. Can you guys go play in your room for a couple of minutes?" Steve asked them. They all nodded and walked to their room.

"So what do you want to talk about?" Katie asked as the baby was done being fed. Steve reached over for him and burped him. Katie was surprised since he was wearing his military clothes. James let out a big burp and Steve just smiled.

"So, I talked to the governor and she basically gave me a job to take down the criminals and that would mean moving our family here to do it. I wanted to ask what your thoughts about this would be?" He asked her.

"Would it mean that you would be home with me and the kids more?" She responded to him.

"Yes it would." He revealed to her.

"I think that it's best that you would do this job because these kids need their father. I need my husband." She said to her husband.

"Okay, I will let the governor know our decision. Let's go to my father's funeral." Steve responded to her as he gave her a small kiss on the lips.

"I love you." She said to him as the kids started to come down the stairs.

"I love you too." he responded to her.

The family moved to Hawaii about a month later. Steve met Danny at the house where they were going to move into about a month later. The kids went to school.
