This is my first fan fiction that I have ever written

I hope you enjoy it :)

The 14th image in my picture album was me as a very young child grabbing hold of the gates on the back yard of my old house, which opened up onto the street behind it. I was looking at the camera, as if to imply that I wanted to know what was beyond the gate, but the metal bars were preventing me from doing so. Childish curiosity was what they called it. All those possibilities, the potential of what could lie beyond. Without even considering the risks, we always want to know what lies ahead. It is what drives humanity on. Beyond could be a life of happiness, of love. However it could be something bad, something dangerous. But wouldn't you rather find out, to know for sure what was there? Or would you not bother and be happy with where you are now? Of course not.

It was the one thing I coveted the most. My photo album. Mainly because I like to look back on my past and see to path that I have followed to become who I am today. I have my reasons for looking back on the past. One reason is because I have a fear I might one day forget the faces of my parents, family and friends. Silly, I know, although there is always the possibility that it could happen. One day your whole life could turn around with one quick swipe. It was a scary thought which I quickly got out of my head.

Downstairs was the best place to be, I thought. In front of the TV, where something was blaring out its own tune, making me feel less alone and far less scared. As I sat downstairs watching the latest episode of Doctor Who, my eyes began to feel extremely heavy and tiredness took over me.

Knock! Knock!

The sudden loud noise woke me up. I rubbed my eyes. What time is it? I thought, looking at the clock. 2:30am. Who on earth would knock on my door at this time?

Out of curiosity, I went towards entrance of my house, to see who was on the other side. It could be a friend in need, or it could be a psycho murderer. Either one would be good company right now. I grabbed the handle and slowly opened the door.

Thanks guys for reading the first chapter of The Impossible Path!

I really want to know what you guys thought about it and I would appreciate any reviews given.

I'm also looking for your opinion on where the story could go next, so mention this in your review if you want to :)
