This is the start of a new type of fic for me. I think it seems more…gloomy? Or something XD. Anyway, I just want some feedback/opinions. Let me know if I should continue with the story! Also, I can't guarantee complete accuracy in relation to time-frame and plot because I've only watched up to Episode 16 of the anime, and the first two volumes of the manga. I hope you enjoy the preview!
Warnings: None for this chapter; eventual Miharu x Yoite
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
He could feel it. His mind and body were entirely in sync with Shinra Banshou. It felt… natural to have the absolute knowledge flowing throughout his body. He followed a trail of knowledge for awhile, and then found another. He might've stayed that way for all eternity, following strains until he reached the end, if it wasn't for that voice. It was constant, sounding relieved, but also anxious and breathless. His eyes reluctantly opened and focused on the figure in front of him. A boy, not much older than him looked into his eyes and repeated what he must have been saying all along "You can make things right now Miharu. Make me disappear." Yoite a voice, Miharu's voice, said in the back of his mind. For some reason he couldn't place the boy or the importance of his words. Again the boy, Yoite, asked to disappear. So let's make him disappear. It's what he wants. And what you promised him. The Shinra Banshou. With a start Miharu realizes he isn't in sync with it, its taken control. He starts to struggle, but is stuck in his own mind, watching as the Shinra Banshou erases Yoite. Yoite! Miharu screams and futilely tries to break the chains imprisoning him in his own skull. "Open your eyes Miharu." It's Yoite's voice. But he's gone. A tear runs down his face and suddenly there's a bright light. Miharu's eyes close reflexively and when they reopen he's staring up at his own ceiling, in his own bed. With Yoite Standing over him, looking a little unsure. Miharu feigns indifference. "Haven't had nightmares in a while. Ah well, a dream's a dream." He fake yawns, stretches, and mumbles something about the bathroom. All the while Yoite has been quiet, wondering to himself what this nightmare was about and why exactly he was in it.
Safely secured in the bathroom, Miharu collapses on the floor shaking uncontrollably. As usual, his mind is trying to tell him it's no big deal, shake it off. But it is a big deal and he can't quite figure out why. He doesn't particularly care about the Shinra Banshou taking over, seems like an easy enough way to live. But then the memory of the indifference it showed when Yoite was erased flashed through Miharu's mind and he thought he would throw up. It felt so real, and it terrified him. "Yoite…" It came out as a hoarse whisper because of the lump that had suddenly formed in Miharu's throat. Curling up close to the toilet in case another wave of nausea hit him, Miharu drifts into sleep. This time, mercifully, more pleasant thoughts of the Kira user flit through his head.
