A/N: This doesn't really make sense at all. And that's coming from the person who wrote this thing. Anyway, onward, peoples! Hands up for KI!

Warning: Intense OOCness from everything.

As the stars blinked down at Palutena as she gazed out into the deep expanse of ebony, she wondered if she even knew her dearest angel at all. Her most beloved companion, Pit, sometimes felt so mysterious and unknown to her, that Palutena felt she was so very unimportant to him. That he could just fly off, and never return.

The mere flutter of his pure white wings seemed almost too calculated to be natural, as when he stood next to his ebony-winged twin Pittoo, he always seemed more composed, more self assured. Just… more, than his dark doppelganger.

Palutena often found his flight feathers littered around the courtyard. The beautiful curves of the long feathers captured her attention, and when he was gone, she glides around the courtyard, collecting the feathers and storing them away for safekeeping.

His innate beauty captivated her.

Even so, she was a goddess. She was the higher, divine being. She had her responsibilities to worry about, not an angel in her service.

Her responsibilities kept her grounded, while he flew up and up and away from her.

It's not as if she could give him much anyway. What could she offer to him?

The only thing she could offer is love and affection, which did not mean much if he was not looking for that.

When he came to her, giddy about his newest achievements in the field, Palutena stilled, and with a forced smile, congratulated Pit on his accomplishment. After all, there was nothing she could do to keep him from going out on the missions. If anything, she was the one who sent him out on the first place, no matter how much it hurt to see him go.

His innate curiosity was one of his endearing traits, and so when Pit grazed a hand along her shoulders and quietly asked if she was okay, she felt obligated to tell him the source of the problem.

Palutena let go, breaking down in his arms and spilling out all unnecessary cover-ups and letting her stupid walls collapse as she begged for him to stay.

She'd been alone for too long.

Palutena sat with her draped on his lap, his smooth wings caressing her face as he listened to her lamentations. It had been too long since someone had listened to the lonely goddess, and it was about time someone did.

Awkwardly patting her back, he gently pats her shoulders and curls his wings around himself.

His awkward boyish tendencies are one of his most endearing characteristics.

Extending her own, disused wings, she flutters her feathers until one flight feather falls to the ground. Gently catching the long feather before it hits the ground, she hands it to Pit. He looks up at her with a questioning look.

"Flight feathers are meant for those who fly, Pit. Teach me how to fly.
