Explosions rang out along the gray corridor as we ran like mad for the core.
"Come on keep up Zion!" Wade called as we ran. I smirked and adjusted the load on my shoulders as I smirked and called back to his running form in front of me.
"You know what Wade! You're not the one carrying the stupid two canisters of C4!" I snarked back before attempting to speed up. An explosion went off right next to me and I flew through the air. I painfully landed on my side and groaned as I rolled onto my front and spat out blood from a split lip. Some one skid to a stop next to me and started pulling me to my sore feet.
"Come on Zion, we're almost there." Wade's comforting voice sounded next to my ear. I stumbled to my feet and saw the cans of C4 and scrambled to grab them. Pulling them back into my arms, Wade lead me down the corridors as we ran, him more pulling me as we went.
A large generator like structure loomed in front of us as we ran inside. I tossed a few cans to Wade and began sticking them to different positions along the large, glowing cylinder. Wade's shout brought me out of my reverie and I ran over to his side to see him fending off two different soldiers and another one was right behind him aiming for a fatal shot along Wades spine.
I shrieked like a banshee and launched myself onto the black-clad soldier and began hitting anything in sight. Snarling, I grabbed the side of his head and slammed my forehead into his, knocking him backwards. I flipped off of him and landed on the ground as he fell on the ground.
Wade came over to me as I stood up. "You okay?" I asked without even turning to look at him.
He placed his hand on my shoulder and I faced him with a smile on my face, "You better be, or I just gave myself this head ache for no reason."
He laughed and we went back to the C4 cans and started setting them, mine were time linked to Wades so I didn't need to set the timer.
I ran over to Wade's side and watched as he started sticking them up higher, "Wade be careful!" I called when he started pushing random buttons.
"Relax Zion! Everything's perfectly-" He was cut off as he pushed a button and an alarm started ringing and 15 seconds popped up on all the screens.
He turned and faced me with a sheepish grin before screaming, "RUN!"
I glared before running after him glaring, "Wade! If I live through this I am going to kill you!" I screamed and ran faster as I heard the beeping continue to grow in speed and volume. Detonation rang out and Wade's hand found mine, as we ran I faced him and saw a small smile form on his face.
"I love you..." He whispered as we ran with a ball of flame and melting wreckage barreled down the hallway after us. I smiled back at him and squeezed his hand back.
"I love you too Wade..." I felt pain as we were engulfed before-
I shot upright gasping as I wildly looked around, I was in my bed and a monotone beep caught my attention and I faced my alarm clock, whose blue numbers glared 6 a.m. back at me. I realized what had happened and flopped back onto my bed before pulling my pillow out and stuffed my face into it before groaning.
"You've got to be kidding me!" I groaned before unplugging my alarm clock and falling back asleep with explosions still ringing in my brain...
So yeah...that would be the last time that I ever eat Hot Cheeto French Fries at 9 at night...
