'The client is dead. He just shot himself.'

Stunned, Paz peered through his scope again to confirm what had happened. Yep, the wanker had finally gone completely mental and offed himself. Paz listened to the static coming in over the radio.

'Are you serious?' Radan asked, after a long silence.

'Yes, I'm serious. The bloke went and shot himself,' Paz repeated.

'Are you sure?' Gedeon piped up. His reedy voice sounded even more high-pitched and plaintive than usual. What an annoying tosser, Paz thought for the umpteenth time.

'I saw it with me own two eyes, dinnae?' Paz snapped. Jesus, the accent was killing him. And he was starting to think in it too. But he had no intention of letting the others know that he was anything but plain old English.

'What now?' Gedeon inquired.

'We're done,' Radan answered.

'But our instructions…' Gedeon whined.

'The client's gone. His fecking plan is moot, innit?' Paz responded. The guy who had hired them was dead and that was the end of it, as far as Paz was concerned. He had gotten paid and he wasn't about to stick around waiting to be collared. Checking through the scope if any coppers had arrived on the scene already, he spotted the other man standing on the edge of the building.

'Oh, Christ. What's he doing now?' he breathed.

'What's happening?' Radan asked, sounding worried. Paz tracked the arc of the body until a truck blocked his view.

'The other one just killed himself too. Chucked himself off the roof,' Paz told the other two men. That's one devoted bastard, he thought. Then he started to gather his equipment.

The end.

Author's note: I had just finished writing this when I realised that the gunmen of course didn't know that Moriarty had hired them. Moriarty is too smart for that. So, they wouldn't have aborted their mission just because some stranger with Sherlock committed suicide. But hey, the story was already written, so I thought I might as well post it. Maybe someone enjoyed it? If so, let me know with a review.
