A/N: I own no one from Once Upon a Time.
"Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?"
How many times had she asked this question? She had lost count. Often, when she asked, the answer was the same: You, my Queen, are the fairest of them all. However, lately, the answer had been different, leaving Regina to pace through her days in anxious rage, spending nights turning torturously in her bed.
"It is certain, my Queen, that you are a beauty to behold, But I must tell you, Snow White is the fairest in the land…"
Regina's lips curled back, and she hissed, turning sharply on heel, her black cloak whirling behind her.
"Snow White…" she seethed, fire dancing in her black eyes.
"Why? Why is she the fairest of them all?" the queen demanded.
"It is true love, my Queen." the mirror replied simply. "True love is the greatest beauty."
Regina boiled. Unfurling the palm of her hand, she revealed a ball of glowing flame.
"Then I shall destroy her happiness…"
With that, Regina thrust the flame at the mirror and it shattered with a sickening ring and an eerie scream.
The queen observed her work with a dark chuckle.
"I shall have my happy ending…"
