Sora 「空」means Sky in Japanese. Title will be only completely understood if you're up to date with Nabari no Ou. And yes, I'm aware the name does not have that meaning, I'm just playing with words here.
Sora
By Lily Maxwell
They say the sky is the same everywhere you go.
He stopped, among a crowd of people, and looked up at the sky. It was of a cheerful blue color, no dark clouds to maculate its clearness. Bright, summer sky.
Any other sentimental person would question themselves if maybe that other person was looking up at that same sky too. He didn't have such dramatic thoughts. He was honest with himself.
He just wanted to see him.
And the sky, it would always remind him of him.
If he were to pass by him on the street, would he recognize him? Would he call out his name?
"Ah, maybe it's going to rain after all."
He raised his hand to wipe away the wetness from his cheeks,
He started to walk again. His head hung low instead of high, bumping into people occasionally but they wouldn't look at him because it was a busy, busy city. He was just another face in the crowd, mingled in the mass. Imperceptible.
And that was the way it was supposed to be.
But in the last moment, why didn't he have the courage to wipe himself away from his memories? It had been easy with everybody else, but why? Why had he started to cry when he called out his name? A mixture of power, sorrow, confusion, desperation ran through him at the time. It all needed to end, and yet…
Those deep blue eyes, like the sky.
He thought he heard someone call his name.
He didn't turn. Wishful thinking, most likely.
So much to wish for, and yet, the only wish he really had was to be able to look up at the sky, with Yoite by his side, just once.
Just once, call out his real name.
He wanted to hear someone call out his name.
