Hi there! It's me, the newbie writer in the Sailor Moon community. Well this year is the first time I decided to participate Mamoru Chiba Week 2018 and it's pretty scary for me. Don't get me wrong- Mamoru Chiba is one of my most favorite characters in the series because I can really relate to him AND I'm pretty sure everyone who's writing for Mamoru Chiba Week that he is a very under-rated and least developed character and that totally sucks. So hopefully, I do some justice with this fanfic.
Friendly reminder! This fanfic is a bit unique in a way. The stories that I write are always "outside the box" which means that I tend to write more AU's than what the normal canon of Sailor Moon because it's more creative for me to write in. So that said, this is a One Shot with all the themes that MC Week 2018. Yeah I know, it may seem a lazy move but honestly it's my first time and I thought it would be cool to challenge myself. Hopefully this doesn't throw you guys off, please go easy on me XD. This one shot may have a small link to one of my first stories (Guardians: Act One) so heads up.
And one last thing- I want to acknowledge all my favorite authors in the SM community because these writers are so ahead of their game and their stories are so freaking awesome and it truly inspires me to write my own. Those writers are Queen Risa, RavenCassie, Antigone2, FloraOne, Golak, UglyGreenJacket.
And to my very first friend in the community that really encourages me to write my own stories, to me, she is so freaking awesome with her own stories. I want to honor her because there is a moment in this fanfic that is her idea and she has given me her permission to use it. So to my friend, Nebelflecke, thank you so much! You are so awesome and whatever you do in life will always be amazing ;)

A gift from me to you
From where he was standing, it would seem that everything was alright in the world. The sky was still blue, the sun still shinning in the sky, providing warmth as the summer went on. But he knew in his heart that it wasn't alright, there was emptiness in his life that he recognized from his earlier years.
A feeling that creeped up around his birthday from time to time.
Though he had all the happiness in the world, something he didn't think he would have before meeting his beautiful wife again in this lifetime. But even after falling in love with his wife and eventually marrying her, August 3rd always reminded him the tragic it brought to him as it was the day he lost both his parents and memory of a simpler life.
Even centuries later, he still thinks back to the darkest moments of both lifetimes.
So at this very moment, he didn't think much of his birthday because there are more things to be concerned about than August 3rd. Not when his own child is somewhere in a foreign world in the past where it wasn't exactly like the crystal world of the future.
As any father, he was beyond concern and desperately wanted to know if his child was alright. But as always, Endymion just mask it underneath to keep the calm balanced, but knowing his wife, she always manages to make him smile like a silly school boy, still in love with his petite bunny, despite the dark moments, she keeps the light shinning, hoping and praying that their child is safe,
"Mamo-chan, you're spacing out again!"
Endymion slightly comes out of his thoughts as he heard his wife's sweet voice by the side. She was clad in her royal white long dress, looking like an angel as always. They were sitting in one huge comfy lounges in the rose gardens, their favorite thing to do whenever they were free from their duties. It always brings some much needed peace to him and Serenity (who was still his precious Usako) but it seems that it's not doing the trick.
"I'm sorry my love, my mind was somewhere else"
Serenity looks at him with some little sadness in her beautiful crystal blue eyes, she knew what was going on within him. She reaches out for his hand to try to comfort him, she understands how he is feeling about their child. "I know what's bothering you, I can see it in your eyes" she says.
Endymion cracks a smug smile. Of course she knows, she's the love of his life. And because of what she always says about his eyes, how each color shows every emotion he has tried to hide over the years. He brings their entwined hands to place a soft kiss to her petite hand, "You know me too well, Usako".
"Well of course, my dear. What kind a soulmate wouldn't know everything about their beloved. Now tell me what's wrong my love?"
He looks at her with loving eyes and smiles, as always she cheers him up. Sighing softly, he decided to cherish the peaceful moment with his wife by telling her his thoughts.
"I'm just reminiscing about my life. You know, just thinking about all what happened in both lives and how I should have told bits of it to our child" he says to Serenity.
She looks at him with expression eyes, a small sad smile gracing her lovely face.
"In story mode?"
"Story mode or another way. Our child is as curious as you, my love"
Serenity giggles softly as she wraps her arms around him to embrace her husband.
"Like what kind?"
"About my childhood. How I grew up in a orphanage and learned how to survive in the real world as I grew older, way before I met you and even before I knew what I would get in the future"
"Like in the Silver Millennium, my childhood wasn't exactly fun because of my father always pressuring me to excel in swordsmanship and in my studies and even in military as I grew older. He was never like a father to me, instead I saw him like a king that didn't see me as his son. And along with the modern time, I didn't get much to remember about my second father because of the accident…"
"Is that why you would read books about being a first time dad when I was pregnant with our baby?"
Endymion chuckled, "Hey I was nervous of becoming a father, to be honest, I did not knew how to be a great dad to our child" he said to her.
He saw her face changed from happy to a bit sad once she heard him. "Mamo-chan, you turn out to be a very great father who teases our child like when you shamelessly teased or flirted with me when we were teenagers" she said.
"The memory of our child's birth is something I would never forget"
Theme: Father
The nervous new father waited in the sitting room outside of his and Serenity's bedchambers, He had managed to return to witness the birth of the precious baby right on time, the war was over and he and the royal army had won.
"Your Majesty, the queen wants to see you now" a servant said to him as he gets up from the chair. He opens the door and walks in to see the love of his life, glowing in her white nightgown, her silver blond hair let loose out of her odnagos, a small bundled in her arms as she lovingly stares at their child.
He calmly walked up to the bed where his wife and their child were, his palms were sweaty, he felt his heart beat faster as he stares at the bundle of joy that he and Serenity made with their love.
Endymion knew that, as he glances at his child's opening eyes, he would try to be a great father despite the duties as King he must perform, he would truly be there for their child and to make time for his small but blessed family. Because at that moment, as soon as he saw his baby's crystal eyes, he vowed just that; to be a great father.
" My love, is that why you wanted our child to have a good childhood, filled with childish teasing the little one by taking the crayons and taking videos and pictures of every embarrassing moment and such? My, it seems that you did become a great dad and achieved your goal"
"Haha- I guess I did. I just wanted to our child to know that there is some goodness in life"
"I'm sure our child knows that there were good and bad in life, don't forget that's our child you're talking about" Serenity said.
"But you are right about giving our child a good childhood, I just didn't want the same thing that happened to me for my child"
"The thought of being on their own terrifies me, especially since our child is in the worst time in history. It must be hard and I know that feeling…."
Theme: Childhood
From the memories he discovered as Endymion when he was a child himself, it wasn't always filled with great memories in his own childhood. The king expected a lot from him to became an superb warrior as well as Crown Prince to the kingdom his father ruled with an iron fist.
The old king didn't allowed him to play with anyone and even when he got his Shitennou, it was all about his royal duties. As Endymion grew older, the more responsibilities he got, along with the military training he went through to become worthy of the crown. But at least he got away from his brash father from some years. So as Mamoru Chiba, everything in the past summed up to modern times as well. His childhood wasn't exactly good either.
The young man remembered how lonely it felt to live in the orphanage as a 6 years old little boy with no recollection of his family and his identity. He had managed to get some independence at age 15 and finally moved on with his life until he met Usagi Tsukino, then he knew that his childhood paled in comparison once he meet the bubbly girl.
As both Prince Endymion and Mamoru Chiba, he knew that this is where his life had started to matter for once in his life, for he knew that his precious Usako would give him all the happiness in the world, just by loving him and his snarky personality.
He would make a lot more promises in his life, many concerning their child who deserved a good childhood so it wouldn't know such bad things in life like he did.
"I was also remembering the many times the Shitennou and I would have a good time when we were training in the army in our younger years, how Nephrite, Jadeite and Kunzite annoyed the hell out of Zoisite and I as we were the youngest in the group"
"Really?! Hmm I would have thought that you guys were very close when you were younger because they are part of our family now" Serenity said to her husband.
"Usako, surely you do remember the many times I told you the stuff they did when I was just 14 even until I was grown man, they still did annoying things to me and Zoisite was the one who alerted me of their shenanigans. Like this one time, it was the first time meeting them and yes- we hit it off fine and with all the training we did together, there were moments where we did bonded. The jokes they made about how I wasn't exactly fit to be part of the military and the times when I was seeing you in our secret rendezvous…..
Theme: A Knight and his Shitennou
It was around the time when Endymion was only 21 years old when he and the Shitennou were in military training and even after they were done with the arduous training, they would go to tarvens to drink and have good times with the women.
It was their own tradition to do together until the tall dark haired prince stopped going out of nowhere which was saying a lot to the Shitennou since they knew the kind of person Endymion. He was always so stoic and mysterious but they knew that underneath it all, he was a very noble and kind man. Honesty was his best quality as he believes that it serves him well in real life.
But it seemed lately that he was in more… peaceful mood. It was strange enough to see him have a small smile on his face, and he manages to avoid their pranks of sneaking up on him every time they tried to get answer from him whenever they bring up the invitation to go the tarvens and have good times with the local women.
In the matter of months, Kunzite, Zoisite, Nephrite and Jadeite would find out that Endymion was proposing an agreement to become part of the Silver Alliance as a joined party to the council of the Golden Kingdom.
So the question hanged over the men's heads as to why would Endymion would do that? So in teams of two, the Shitennou tried to get the reason from their prince by really trying their hardest to read the ever so serious dark haired man. So Nephrite would try to read the stars for any answers it may provide while Jadeite would go over all the books in the library to seek out the reason and even when they tried to get Endymion alone, he would disappear from their sight!
With Zoisite and Kunzite, they went straight to the point with Endymion who would beat around the bush and would always say "For some great benefits of being part of the Silver Alliance" crap but as first and second command, they knew there was more to it than that.
It would shocked them more when they did found out the real reason why he even proposed such a thing in the first place. From where they were, it seem that Endymion made contact with the one kind of person that they didn't want their own people to mingle with.
He had fallen in love with the Lunarian princess of the moon.
Back in the future, Serenity and Endymion chuckled over the misadventures he and the Shitennou had, especially when they found he fell in love with his wife. The utter shock to know he was capable of feeling love for once in his life. Despite the trials they went through together, they still managed to remind together after all the trouble they may caused.
"It was one of those stories that I told as a bedtime story. Our child always thought it was funny that Uncle Kunzite, Zoisite, Nephrite and Jadeite would always annoyed dear old papa to the extreme" the dark haired kind said as a small smile graces his face.
Serenity giggles a bit "I'm bet. But hey the Senshi were like that too with me so I'm our kid would totally understand since the cousins do that"
"Which reminds me of this one bedtime story I told once…."
Theme: A masked hero
King Endymion and Neo Queen Serenity had finally finished their duties for the day and before they retired to their bedchambers after dinner, they head over to a room that housed a very precious person who should be in bed by now since it was very late.
They always check up on their little one before going to bed, even if they were tired, they tried to be there as good parents to their child who needed their upmost attention.
Opening the door to the room, they see a night light fit for a small child, glow in the dark stars all over the ceiling, making the room very dim lit. The medium sized bed had green blue sheets with stars on it and underneath the sheets was their child, trying to read a book with a flashlight.
"You should be sleeping by now, little one!" Serenity and Endymion both said in a silly firm tone.
"But I'm reading a book and I'm not tired Mama and Papa!" a soft and gentle voice said underneath the sheets.
"It doesn't matter, you need your sleep little monkey! You could read a book tomorrow! It's time for bed now" Endymion said. Clearly he knew that the child wants something from them. Sharing a look to one another, as if they both knew the only way to put their child to sleep.
"How about me and papa tell you a story about Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask?" Serenity said gently.
"Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask? I never heard of that! What's it all about?" the child said in a baby voice. The child was around 3 or 4 years old.
"Well if you promise to go to sleep, we will tell you the story. Now come on, come out from underneath the sheets" Endymion said in a fatherly tone.
The small child crawled out of the sheets to face them, Serenity and Endymion get a glimpse of large childlike eyes of crystal blue in the dimly lit room. The parents smiled at their child as they sit on the bed, ready to share the origins of their secret alter ego: Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask.
"Now where to begin? Oh yes, so a long time in the year 1992, there was a super heroine named Sailor Moon who fought for love and justice and her partner in crime, Tuxedo Mask who was a masked hero/ vigilante who helped Sailor Moon to defeat a great evil that wanted the earth to conquer".
"Wow! Really papa?"
"Yes kiddo, it happened! Don't believe me! Well let's see what the tickle monster has to say!"
The father started to mercilessly tickled the small child who was giggling endlessly. "Papa! No more no more papa hehehe mama help me!" Serenity smiles widely as she watches her husband and child in a tickle fight until she heard for mercy.
"Oh okay! Here comes mama to the rescue!" Serenity said as she lifts up her small child into her arms. Small arms were wrapped around her slender neck as her child hugs her gently. She kissed her child's cheek and caressed her child's hair in a motherly way until she felt her child slowly drowsing to sleep.
Tucking their child in bed, the king and queen give their child a kiss goodnight.
"Mama, Papa?" a drowsy voice said to them.
"Yes little one?"
"Do you think Sailor Moon and Tuxedo lives normal lives after they beat the big baddie?"
"Yes they do. In fact, they are a boy and a girl in love with each other"
"Ew really? I want to hear more of Sailor Moon and Tuxedo! They sound cool!"
"Okay but that's for another night, it's time to go nite nite!" Endymion said.
"Good night Mama. Good night Papa, I love you!"
"We love you too, very much" Serenity and Endymion said warmly.
They closed the door and went straight to their room to get ready for bed. As they slept, they dreamt the simpler times when they were Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask, a time where they were only Usagi Tsukino the witty and daydreaming junior high school girl and Mamoru Chiba, the dashing and sarcastic high schooler who teased/flirted the bubbly blond girl every time they bump into each other.
"All the stories that we told about Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask, our kid sure loved them all. Especially the one where you got turned into a girl by that one monster who reversed our gender when fighting Nehellenia. Now that was funny!" Serenity said to Endymion who made a silly face at her.
"Okay laugh it up but hey you weren't exactly having a good time in a man's body so we're even!"
Serenity sticks out her tongue in a playful mock. Then she remembered something about her teasing husband.
"Remember our first date, Mamo-chan? How you took me wayyy out to Tokyo Bay so I could visit it for the first time. I thought that was romantic" Serenity said in a teasing way.
"I think do" Endymion said is playful mock as well until his wife smacks his arms in the same fashion.
"I'm serious Mamo-chan"
"We went to that cute café and then we took that long walk on the Bay, just talking about anything in our lives at the time" he continued to say.
"That was the very first time I realized that I really did fell in love with you when you blurted out your feelings to me…"
"Hey! I was being honest with you and what better way than to come straight with you" Endymion said, a small blush forming on his face.
"That's something I would never forget"
Theme: Personal Life
Everything in Mamoru Chiba's life before meeting Usagi Tsukino was a bit controlled in his opinion. He thought that after finishing high school and eventually Med school, he would focused on his profession as a doctor and not deal with any romantic relationship after the last one that ended in one hellish way.
He never thought that he could find someone who really take away his breath, and that moment really happened to him. The ever so mysterious young man who had a golden heart inside, believe it or not but it was true, Mamoru Chiba fell in love with the beautiful girl with the crystal blue eyes.
The problem is… he didn't know how to ask her out on a date. It was right after she defeated Metallia is when Mamoru had no clue what to do. They both found out about their past lives as soulmates but even with that knowledge, they were both shy to talk about their romantic feelings to one another.
But Mamoru knew that he needed, no wanted to have a romantic relationship with her and so yesterday when she entered the Crown Café/Arcade, he went was drinking his usual coffee until he saw her, got up and went straight to her. And finally asking her out.
So they agreed to meet in the front of her house first thing in the morning.
Was Mamoru Chiba so damn nervous? Never thought he will be this nervous on going on a date with his lovely Usako. When the next morning came, he was already waiting in the front of her house with a small bundle of flowers in his hands. He was dressed in his light green jacket, a white button up shirt and some khakis along with his trusty new black converses.
He thought about if the flowers were a bit too much but once he saw Usagi was dressed in a pink overall dress with a black and white high neck tank top with white sandles on her small feet, did the high schooler felt like he was going to explode out of joy of just seeing Usagi that beautiful.
He saw the small pink blush on her pale cheeks as he approached her with the flowers in his hand. "Hi" he said softly to her.
"Hi" she replied in the same fashion.
"Oh these are for you!" Mamoru gives the flowers to Usagi who smiles at them.
"Oh thank you! I love roses! She said to him.
Both teens stay silent until Usagi reaches out for his hand and gets closer to him.
"Lead the way, Mamo-chan!"
Mamoru smiles at her cheerfulness as he starts to walk with her to the train station. They would go to Tokyo Bay for the entire day, getting lunch at a cute café and eventually they will go on to take a long stroll along the bay, talking to one another, keeping it low key for themselves.
Usagi and Mamoru didn't need anything fancy for their first date as they shared their own interests to one another and he thought the entire time was like a dream he never wanted to leave. He found finally found that special one to love and protect for the rest of his life.
It was there when they were sitting down on a bench as the sunset was the horizon was when he blurted out: "I love you. I just do-I really do" in all honesty. Mamoru didn't want his feelings of love for Usagi to be hidden, no way. He wanted her to know that he was the one who fell first in love.
Usagi gives him the most beautiful smile he ever saw for the first time and she kisses him on his cheek and says "I love you too, Mamo-chan" and scoots closer to him as she entwines her hand with his.
Finally, he found a place with her by his side, and he will always protect her and love until time ends because he now realizes that his future looked brighter than what he originally thought way before he met her.
"You looked so nervous when you told me that you loved me but it was still so cute" Serenity said. Endymion wraps his arm around her small waist, pulling her onto his lap, rocking her side by side. He was beyond nervous but it also earned him her endless love.
"You are the best in my life, you know that, right? You have stand by me all of our most hardest times as well as the good times and I'm beyond happy that you gave me a family that I never knew I needed or ever want. I love you to the moon and back to the place where we belonged, my love, thank you for everything" he said as he felt pure happiness.
Serenity kisses his face, eyelids, cheeks and forehead as she tries to show him her love and support. " My Endymion, my Mamo-chan, I will always love you to the moon and back and I will always want to be with you forever. Nobody else like you, and for that I will say one thing. Our child is lucky to have a father like you, a kind man who has a golden heart and courage and kindness that no one would have of you" Serenity said softly.
"Your Majesties, they are you! We got urgent news from the Control Center!" Venus says as she comes in a hurry, a young girl behind her with the same appearance as Venus. "Auntie Serenity! Marcus sends something for Uncle Endymion!" the girl, Misaki is her name as allows her mother to report the news.
"It seems that the children made contact with some rebellion in the past, we are still waiting for more communication from the Artemis Ball you send out to your son a while back but we're getting static" Venus said to the Queen and King.
"What did Marcus send for me, Misaki?" Endymion asked the young girl right next to him.
"A gift from my dear cousin to you, uncle" Misaki replied back as she handed the medium sized box to Endymion.
Seeing the familiar wrapping of the box, he felt a tug in his chest as he remember the last time he saw his child.
Theme: Free Day/ Birthday (August 3rd)
That day is one of the most unforgettable memories he will always cherish. It started out as the same day. His beautiful wife will try to make him breakfast but will always make a mess. She would bring his coffee and a chocolate pancakes which are his favorite. And he and Serenity would try to find the little mischievous child of theirs and spend it together just as a normal family.
But instead, Serenity left a note on the tray with his breakfast saying that their little one had something in mind for him and it also said to go to the rose garden for a secret surprise. Smiling, he ate his breakfast and afterwards got dressed and went looking for wife and child
It was in the afternoon when one of the servants told him that it was time to go over the rose gardens.
What awaited him was something he would never forget and there were a lot of things he would never forget. But this one was just like a cherry on top.
"Happy Birthday!"
It was a very imitate surprise party with the Shitennou and the senshi and their own children, it was one huge family. Endymion immediately saw his wife standing right in front of him with a small kid by her side.
"There are you two are! He said to Serenity as he walks up to them.
"Did you plan this for me again? You know you're not so great at making surprise birthday parties for me, Usako!"
"I didn't plan it. But I heard a certain little someone that he wanted to surprise his papa this year" Serenity said in a playful voice as she glances down to the little boy.
Endymion smiles widely, "Is that so?! Hmmm I wonder who is this little someone? Maybe it's you, silly little one!" he said in the same fashion as his wife did moments before. He lifts up the giggling boy into his strong arms, Endymion puts down the small 7 year old on the ground.
"Dad, I have a present for you! I hope you like it!" the little boy said, his crystal blue eyes gleaming with happiness and brightness.
Navy blue eyes glanced over the small box his son had one hand. Gently ripping the wrapping from the box, Endymion saw a large box of chocolates that his dear son had bought for him.
"Do you like it? I know you love dark chocolate so Mama helped me to pick out your favorites!"
Endymion instantly felt a huge tug in his chest, feelings of happiness filled him as he continues to hear his wife and son talk about the surprise party that he planned for him.
"Hey now, today is your birthday too so why do this for me, huh?" Endymion asked his son.
"Because Dad, you always do things for me so I wanted to do something for you as well. Dad, you are the silliest dad I ever had, so today because it's our shared birthday, I do this for you because Fathers Day and Christmas aren't enough to say that I love you very much and that I'm happy to have you and Mama!" the little boy said.
Endymion felt the tears going down his cheeks as he pulls his son into his arms in a warm hug. Serenity and him were truly blessed with a kind hearted child who knew no limit of being gold hearted.
What lay inside the box was the same thing as those years ago when the sweet boy gifted his father. Except these chocolates were from the Silver Millennium.
"A box of the best chocolates for you Dad, don't try to eat them all at once!- with love for you and Mom, happy birthday old man!" a note read on the box.
Endymion chuckled at the note. As always, he will always worry for his child like the concerned father that he is, praying that his child remains safe during the rebellion war.
